Ebay Categories?

I'm sure this probably isn't the right section....but I don't know where this fits.

I was searching Ebay as I'm sure many of us do. I have a cue listed on there. Well, I noticed that it didn't come up when I searched for it. So, I looked back at the listing and it is no longer in a category. It was under other cues in the billiards section, but now it is not in any category. It is still a live listing....so I wasn't sure what happened. I went in to try and revise the listing category and I go back through sporting goods, indoor games (is this new?), billiards, cues....and pick it and click submit. It then comes back and says invalid category, please choose another. I can't get it to list in the cue category even though it shows it as a category. It was originally in the cue category when I listed it....

Is anyone else having this problem? I'm quite ticked since I am paying for this and no one will see it unless they specifically search for the exact title!
 
I was watching an item over several days, and then it just disappeared like yours. I thought that maybe the auction was pulled. However, I clicked on a link to the original auction that someone gave me, and low and behold the cue was still there. However, it was not listed under any categories??? Strange. Must be a glitch in their system. This same item was fine for several days, then disappeared. I've never seen it happen before.

Quite unusual....I don't know why it happened, but I can't put it back in a category now....
 
Yes, I noticed the same thing. I don't have anything for sale but was watching a few cues and they did not show up under the ususal search parameters.

I almost think that billiards is gone as a category, replaced by "indoor sporting goods" or whatever.

Another reason to stay away from Ebay!?
 
I have a cue listed on ebay and same thing happened to me... said that i needed to revise my listing and pick a valid category... and cues was no longer there... i had to list it under billiards>>other.... it's weird...
 
My buddy, Cuetip2, and I sell Cokers all the time on eBay ... However, once in awhile I can do a search under Billiards for Coker and it keeps coming up Cover ...

Unbelievable, especially when eBay rapes their Sellers with obnoxious Listing Fees and Final Value Fees ... and now a Seller cannot post Negative Feedback for any Buyer, even when they are DEAD-BEATS !!!!

What a crock-of-s**t ....

Sounds weird John? I know that I've had problems doing searches after I've revised an item which they've told me takes time for their database to get back up sometimes, yadayada....not sure that is the problem here :(

What is the listing link? Maybe post it here and see if we can do a search and let you know what the results are for us.

Well, they seem to have added "indoor games" then you can click billiards, and then cues.....but it didn't let me put it in cues. So I tried putting it in other....and that didn't work either. I tried just putting it in billiards as a long shot....but no deal there either!

Well....it seems to be back in the right category now. Evidently Ebay was trying to get all of the auctions switched into the category over the last couple of days. It's a good think I didn't do a 3-day auction!

Yea Leave It To Ebay, Totally Stupid To Get Rid Of The Cue Category, Now New Users Will Be Lost Trying To Find A Pool Cue I Think!
 
They have a Cue category again....but instead of going to sporting goods, then billiards, then cues.....it is sporting goods, indoor games, billiards, cues....

It just hasn't been working, but it's still a category....just moved around. It hopefully is working for everyone now. Mine is back where it should be, so hopefully I will have a few more people see it!
 
Also seems like they change the sellers format quite often! Ebay is getting more complicated by day.

Hey....Good Mornin,

The link works fine here and the pics look good too!

Ebay is not a perfect world for sure either but, hoping you get some good action on this very nice looking cue!
