just a warning for everyone..

i received a fake second chance offer on Murray Tucker's Omega/dpk cue...it was in my email inbox and i thought it looked funny as the email addy didnt match what i had on file for Murray.

i logged into my ebay account and there was no offer there.

so, if anyone else receives a second chance offer...

PLEASE dont click on any of the hotlinks in the email..log into your ebay account and check there to make sure its legit!!!

i reported this to ebay also....

Thanks for the heads up. These scum are taking all the fun out of Ebay lately.

If any questions, second offers, or any other type of ebay business. If it is not on your ebay page, it is not a real ebay transaction. That is a safety feature ebay has in place to protect ebayers from scam questions, or offers. It may so up on your email, but if it does not show on your ebay page. IT IS SCAM~PERIOD.

Yes, be careful. I constantly get unpaid item warnings and THEATS for items I had nothing to do with. DON'T CLICK ON EMAIL LINKS GO TO YOUR EBAY PAGE!!!

more than often i've these scam mails in my junk box..then those authentic ebay mails r in my inbox..
i forgot how i did the auto filter cause both scam n authentic mails r from the same address..

Fake offer on barrenbrunge

I also recieved a second chance offer on the Barrenbrunge . Luckily my gut instinct of if it is too good to be true then it is probably is was working. Mine looked extreamly real but was not in my inbox under my ebay. Report all of these to spoof@ebay.com. Sad that we have to put up with this crap.

I just dont buy things on ebay anymore, it's to much of a gamble.
I prefer forums like this, you can ask more around and it get's more personal.
Of course you can be screwed here as well but i still feel more safe.

I was almost taken by this scam a few years ago. I bid on a cue and a few days later I got a Email saying that I could have it for the price that I bid because the winning bidder did not pruchase the cue. After bidding I was glad that I got outbid because I changed my mind didn't really want the cue.
What wised me up was that I bid on some other cues and got the same message for 2 other cues from the same person the next day. His greed gave him away. Then I got the same message from another scammer on the same cues.

I am glad that I was not taken by the scam but could have been a victim because it looked real legit.

eBay Scams

Yep, same scam was sent to me. Must b done a lot. Fortunately for me, I had emailed the tru seller with a question so I had his email address. This scam email address was different. Just to check it out I replied with a question about the payment. He replied to send a Western Union to the UK and that made me sure it was a scam as the tru seller was here in the states. As other posters have said, go to My eBay, if it's not there, it's a scam.

I got one today also. I received a second chance notice thru Ebay, then I got an email from a different person for the same item.

I chose to ignore both as I did not have a good feeling about the whole thing.

I rather stick to purchasing cues from respectable individuals on this forum, and will stay away from Ebay.

The next time I get one of those 2nd chance deals I think that I will respond by telling them that I am buying the cue for a friend that likes to play with that cue. He gave me a check for $5000 that I will send. Please take out the money needed to pay for the cue and shipping and then send me the balance with the cue. Might even tell them to take out a extra $20 for their troubles. :D

LOL :D GOOD ANSWER...

i would pay to fly these scum to me so i could kick them right in the jewels hard enough so that they cant breed!

basic problem with society in general right now, in my opinion....no consequences for their actions. political correctness is going to be the ruin of us all...first its no pledge of allegiance or national anthem in/at school.....then record your phone calls with no probable cause....next its your jewels on the chopping block.

Well locally we just had a man that was arrested for selling fake stuff on ebay. He sold an expensive tool box for $2,500 and used the money to buy other stuff on ebay. He is facing a felony grand larceny charge. Both the state and federal gov't got involved somehow. i believe the buyer complained so much to his town police and our local police and filed a complaint. And since he used a postal money order to pay for it and the U S Mail to send the payment. this man now has a couple of felony charges against her. first time i had heard this happenning. gotta see if i can find the article...maybe it will help someone else out.......mike

found the article but
can't seem to be able to post it here???????
