The auction is legit and the high bidder is using a second ebay id he has,he is also a regular user of this forum every day. The seller may not want to take a hit of 3% for paypal on top of 3% from ebay for this cue and that could be a sizable amount on this cue. That is also the reason so many auctions end early now,and I know some out there dont like this method or agree with it but ebay is the one who has created this nightmare.I have been a ebay memeber for 5 years plus and the reserve fee was a dollar something to use,now they want there money up front whether you sell the cue or not so they can go fuck them selves. It was fair before but now they are worse than loan sharks. Just my opion!

I've only bid on about a dozen cues on ebay and if they're higher end I only bid against people with a lot of positive feedback or somebody I "know" from this forum. As far as sellers they either have an ebay store or again I know them from here. I may have missed a couple of deals but I try to play it safe. The shill bidding sorta sucks but Sometimes the timing isn't right to sell your stuff and nobody , myself included , likes to take a nasty hit.

If you feel that it is not legit then I wouldnt bid.But the bidder is iconcues.com and he uses this website and at the botom of his post are placidcorp.com his web address and he uses placidcue to bid sometimes,He is not connected to the seller in any way,its just jw's way of bidding. The mottey is a 6000 mottey!
If he sell's that cue for anywhere near the bid right now its the steal of the year! The seller is not a scam artist and i am not connected to him either in any way. Just have been on ebay for as long as its been around and I know everything that goies on . As far as uping the price, that goes on alot but if you want to buy cues in this price range you have to know what your bidding on and know what the cues worth otherwise its possible to be hooked! I dont even bother to bid on these cues because unless you have deep pockets its a waste of time to think that someone who deals in cues like this seller is going to let a cue go for less than a third of its worth. I have super feedback on ebay and I know people get upset for sellers yanking there cues before the auction ends but you have to look at it from the seller's side also.If you have interest in a cue then you should contact the seller and let him know and see if you can buy the cue outright.I used to play by ebay's rules but its impossible now unless your selling cheap crap thats worth 10 bucks to begin with. I have had alot of interest in cues that have been canceled before I get my shot at them but thats life and there's always another cue right behind it that i love. Now some of the info in these replys may not be liked by those I have mentioned but i wouldnt want the seller to be given a bad reputation by untrue alegations.(spelling not the best)

I know most of the sellers(dealers)private owners, etc. have people to up there AUCTIONS to get the higest cash possible for there cues,I see it quite a bit, I watch it all the time how the same bidders up the bidding for them, then I see some new comer selling a cue and how everybody jumps on it because they know he's not a dealer , but only wants to sell a cue , it's a scam IMO . and I guess thats the way it works but if you can't afford ebays prices don't scam innocent people with bid(fixing) pricing , I know someone that got caught trying it and almost lost his ebay account for it. it'll suck later for them.

Right, its about a 6000 mottey,go to www.pooltablemagic.com, his is 5000 but this one has more GOLD in it. previous post amount has been edited.

The one on Mark's site is more.. Although this has gold inlays, Marks has more intriquite work and more expensive inlays and windows..It has peacocks which are twice the price of spears.. Plus it has the bordered windows with ivory blocks and the diamonds on the borders.. and the ivory tips on the points...

Well,i am just trying to help and dont need to bid fix my auctions but you can believe what you want. Like you mentioned, thats the way it is now and i have even deleted a bid by a zero bidder on one of my auction who got very upset with me when i did who we are discussing in this thread and maybe i lost a bidder with deep pockets but so what,i dont care for my auctions being run up by shadey looking bids at the time. There's plenty of buyers out there and never had a customer complain about my cues and now cues mean nothing to me,i have dumped them all because of all this bullshit that goes on in the cue collecting business. I just like to play now.

There both in the same range, gold tips on the one on ebay as oposed to ivory, the ebay one also has custom matching jp's which cost what?? The point of this post aint about whether its a 5000-6000 cue or what ever ,its about someone saying a seller with 100 percent feedback is a scammer. Lets address that issue.Do you think its a scam?

to you it doesn't make sense, your scaming an auction , I notice as soon as a new ebayer started to bid and then the replies here. it's a fixed auction it's bullshit. I was a bidder and legit a legit bidder until I smelt a scam going on.

I don't know who you are and really don't give a shit about you. I am the now previous owner of the Paul Mottey cue you have been complaining about. I do not scam people, you can check my feedback on it. I had a cue that I wanted to sell, which I did. You need to learn the facts pal before you run your mouth. If you don't like an auction or you feel it's just suspicious, simple, just don't bid on it.
