does this seem right as far as the price?seems a bit out of line but i don't know the market for this cue.just a question.Item number: 280019713748

It's practically a sneaky pete!! seems out of line to me - I sold mine to a friend for $200 - so maybe on the high end $600 or $700??

I would not

I could not Sam I am.
It looks like one of the pre Smelkie blank sneaky petes. The starting price should be $450 to $600.

The starting bid price originally was set at $1,500! He's since lowered the minimum to a $1,000. He's still dreaming.

Wouldn't go over $400 myself. The autograph by Tim is nice/unique but not worth $500 to me.

my cue

well it seems you all know more about the cue than i do. lol,,,i paid 250.00 for the cue, then paid 250.00 refinish, then i paid 225.00 for a new shaft and the cue is signed. so i have 750.00 invested so now you all tell me what its worth because tim himself says the cue is worth more.thank you the poolgod PS next time at least spell his name right its tim scruggs.......thank you all for your replys, but just want you to all know facts about the cue in hand. if you have any ? just ask me! thank you poolgod

I hope you sell your cue but I would say that the original poster has a right to ask the question. Just becaue a person spends money on a fixing up a cue it does not mean that the same amount of money can be instantly added to the value of the cue. The other posters were stating their opinions and what they have seen other scruggs cues of a similar style make.

not to sound rude

i didn't mean to sound like i was dogging you out or your cue .thats your buiss.i know just from watching e bay as well as others on this forum that the price seemed odd.now that you told your story as to why, thats fine.i don't understand as one person posted and said the cue had a 1500 open bid at first.did mr. scruggs give you any indication of it's value?i hope you get what you ask for it.helps everyone out with one.later

well in that case

now that i have read your updated description,i take back last post.apparently you think one of two things, that the only people that buy cues off of e bay are on this forum and 2 you must have got some questions about it for you to get that bent in your description.people only know what you tell them about your personnel items.jeez lighten up francis. and since most appraisels are usually twice what it's actually worth or more then 1300 sounds right.you should have got a price on a new one, sold the old one as is,took that money toward the new one and had him sign it,:D thats just my opinion.oh and by the way ,this isn't 1988 so that isn't a new cue unless it comes with a time machine.man people pizz me off sometimes.ask a simple question and the rage of kahn comes down.

hmm.. thats kinda mean for him to say that.. we may not appraise cues for a living.. but we had bought and sold our fare share.. and for the record.. just because somebody said its worth more.. they should buy it for that price them.. its only worth what somebody is willing to pay.. sad to say.. for a 1000 bux you can buy a decent inlays cue.. buy hey.. good luck with your auction.. and this is an open forum, we can discuss whatever we please...

Good luck w/your sale poolgod. I know very well that Mr. Scruggs work is not cheap but worth it. With the new info re: a new shaft and refinish by Tim I understand a bit more now. Happy rolls.

If it doesn't sale, considering what you have invested in it,
you should keep it. They are great hitting cues and you may
have a real collectors item there.

tims advice to me

...... for him to make another cue just like my hustler would cost 1500.00 to 1900. he is the reason for the price set. not trying to pizz you off . lol thank you

interesting. His website says that you can get a 4 pointer with veneers starting at 1900.00 But thats just what I read . :-)

price to make again

the reason it would cost that to make it again was because yours was redone,so he would have to make it twice????lol.

No question. Just wondering to myself how a sneaky pete can cost as much as Four pointer with veneers. Maybe some of the cue makers on the forum can help me out. Im not the most cue smart guy however I don't see it. Even if the sneaky was a full splice. But thats just my opinion.

not a sneaky pete.

hey man the cue is not a sneaky pete it is a hustler. i have almost 800.00 invested in the cue. tim will make another hustler , but like i said veneers or not Tim wants 1900.00 to build another one. thank you for your interrest.
