Ebay Scum I mean Scam !!

How does something like this potential scam get reported to e-bay so that no one is caught without a cue or their money?

How do you know it's a scam? These cue have changed hands at least once, maybe more, since Chalkers sold them. I don't know but just being devil's advocate here....

Because no one in their right mind sells somthing worth 8k for 3 or 4 hundred.
The old saying applies when its too good to be true it usually is.

I confess

Its a scam. I know cause I bought the cue from Martyne back in May of this year and Im still the proud owner of it. Martyne even had Barry make a new shaft for me so the cue has 7 shafts
Everytime I see the scam threads i just shake my head. It seems like every month a Szam, Searing or a Bushka comes up for auction on Ebay and its a bogus auction. No wonder Im a zero feedback bidder, its just too risky to buy collector quality cues there.

I e-mailed the seller and asked him to verify where he got the cue from because I said it was "hot" and the police were looking fot it. No answer of course.

OK you guys can just back off.

I already bought it for $1000 cash, sent the money by Western Union to a country called Moldavia, and what's cool is someone is sending me a check for $10,000 cash and all I have to do is send them back $5000 of it by Western Union.

The cue is in the mail! :p

yea, that sounds like the "lottery" scams thier getting old folks with down here. They tell them the yhit a lottery but have to sends in the money to pay the taxes first, then they will get the big bucks..........and these people do it!...............ugh!

If you are sure it is a scam why not email ebay so no one gets taken? I am sure they would like to know. It also help those of us who are going to use ebay to try to sell cues in the future.

I messaged the guy and asked him how long he's had the two cues.

He actually messaged me back and said, "I have them since 1999."

I did a few days ago but it takes them a while to respond. I also notified a few of the credible high bidders. Hopefully they will believe it.

I think we should all keep posting when we see these phoney ass auctions. As a group we are more effective.

I would like to petition e-bay that all sellers must be verified with bank account information and credit card. I'm sick of the scammers. They're ruining e-Bay.

Misreprestation ...

The internet makes it so easy to scam or misrepresent
the product they are selling. It is nearly impossible for
law enforcement agencies to keep up with all the
'robbing' going on. There need to be consumer
advocacy groups (yes, like Nader) on the internet
protecting the rights of consumers and insuring
that someone is not trying to rip a consumer off.
E-bay is so ripe for it with all the publicity about
making money on E-bay buying and selling.
