i think if u paid the fellow with paypal using credit card money u could retract the payment via paypal. Email paypal and get the payment recinded... And wouldnt ur credit card company have some kinda buyer protection?
Also, would help to report him for internet fraud.. there was this website on the internet fraud burea i am sure others here can furbish u some details...some formal email from authorities could possibly scare the fello..

But of course before u jump the gun, perhaps it be wise to go thru all possibilities.. Perhaps he has 2 R12s ? did u email to the fellow who won the auction? pretty strange the other fellow just "buy it now" on murky pictures.. but i guess he thot he had a deal..

CONTACT PAYPAL NOW and file a dispute. Also CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY IMMEDIATELY to dispute the charge. They're retain the funds until the dispute is resolved. DO IT NOW.

Thank you for replies. Well I canceled payment, at citi bank, called paypal and the other guy who bought the cue after me. Paypal says I wont be out the 925.00 that was on my card but would be out 74.00 cash that was in my account cause no buyer protection. The other guy that bought the cue talked to shanetheshark on the phone and said I hadn't paid well paypal said different. the sellers id is shanetheshark and his name is Robert S Humphries out of Mount Holly, North Carolina. The seller will not get back to me on this matter. I totally doubt he had 2 R12's. The other guy that was trying to make the deal felt a scam also and said he was not going through with it even if he didn't get my warning email last night.
No Robert wont call back the other buyer or answer my emails.

I don't know

How many of you have heard about 'Tiffanys' lawsuit against Ebay for allowing sellers to sell 'knockoff' jewelry under the guise of being original, but it could change the way Ebay does business, and force them to be accountable for scam artists in the future. Tiffanys made over 200 purchases of so-called originals themselves, and found that 3 out of 4 were
knockoffs. Should prove interesting. Stay tuned.

I've noticed that ebay stores don't seem to have a limit to the number of negative feedback they are allowed to get before thier accounts are terminated. I was under the impression that if you get a certian number of negative feedback you lose your ebay priviledges. This came up because I was trying to buy a copy of stickmen (I know I know I read all your reviews) and was checking feedback and was suprised that one e-bay store had over 100 negative feedback in the previous 3 months.

Shocked I say.... darn right appalled

Selling cues on ebay

I have been selling some cues on ebay for a few months now with mixed results. Some of them have been high end cues (over 1K). Recently someone attempted to make me a deal on three cues at once (total price 4,800). He sent me a payment to PayPal which, several days later, turned out to be bogus from an invalid account.
How this got accepted initially by PayPal I don't know. I was ready to ship the cues but got a warning from Chris Tate to be careful. In corresponding via e-mails with the buyer, he claimed to be from W. Virginia but wanted me to ship to Japan. In the e-mails the buyer used somewhat broken english. Something seemed strange and I asked PayPal to check the validity of the payment and credit I had received. The next day they informed me that the payment has been declined, and pulled the credit from my account.
Fortunately I didn't ship these cues. I am certain I would have been burned.
So a word to the wise. Ebay is not looking out for you and neither is PayPal. You must protect yourself in these internet transactions.
I did make a dispute report with ebay and they responded several days later, saying my buyer "was a fraudulent buyer". Thanks a lot for letting me know was what I told them. What they can (or will) do about this is next to nothing, until someone gets burned. There doesn't seem to be any protection plan in place, other than to read peoples feedback reports.

buyers name on ebay was sullivan08.

Snapshot9:

A couple of years ago someone was selling Keith Richards' own personal pool cue using some sort of documentation and someone else was selling a pool cue used by so and so in The Color of Money. The way the wording went is that the stick may have been OWNED by someone having some role in the film.

Careful what you wish for because you may get it.

Jay Helfert:

The protection for purchasers is to use a credit card as far as I know because the card company will withhold funds when the card holder files a dispute. As far as things from the seller's end is concerned, I know nothing.

Back when the Xbox was coming out, naturally there were a bunch on eBay for outrageous prices. One auction I saw was for an "Xbox box". If you glanced at it, and the pictures, you'd think you were bidding on an Xbox - but no, you were bidding on the CARDBOARD BOX it came in. If you bothered to carefully read the text on the auction, you'd see this - but the seller was obviously trying to sneak one by.

Caveat emptor! (Let the buyer beware)

there was also one scammer from Ukraine a while back who worded his auction in such a way that in fact he was just selling u a picture of the cue.. and not the cue..

In short, keep ur eyes out...if the deal is too good.. it probably is too good to be true..

i remember reading in www.nopaypal.com that if u agreed to, and sign up for paypal, then u gave up all rights to any buyer protection ur credit card protects u from..
Anyway i always pay all my transactions with credit card linked paypal. Perhaps a false sense of security but when a seller insists on money orders i feel the chills..

I looked up this guy's profile on eBay. Lo and behold, although he has been a member for almost 6 years, he has not yet received any Feedback Score whatsoever. That should be the biggest red flag waiving in front of you. Luckily you waited to ship those cues. Some people...

i think one bad thing about feedbacks is , u can get a guy scammed u. and u leave him one bad feedback, but HE could do a tit for tat !!!
the next time u try selling ur wares, and that feedback comes back to haunt u, thru no fault of urs...

IS THERE NO JUSTICE?
