Hey Chris.Nice cue.To help answer everyones Qs,I've been talking with Joel on a daily basis,have sent him a few cue sketches,designs,and have a cue currently on the way.I have played with just about all of the philli. cues,Miranda,Vhante,Audrick,etc.And they all have a similar hit.They all play exceptionally well.I can say I can actually pull off some of the more "creative" shots with more confidence with these cues than I can some thousands of $ american cues.You know thats all they do over there is play pool all the time so they're bound to know how to build a nice cue.Joel seems to be a very nice person.I've known him for just a few months now.But there is very good communication.
Rickey.. thanks for the comment. I've gotten two of Joel's cues, and as you said, he's great to deal with. I hate to sell this one, but the bills have to be paid.

I've been thinking of having him make me a MUCH more plain cue than what he usually does. With the quality and effort he puts into his cue, I think a 4 point, 4 veneer cue should be an easy one for him.

I don't use the word "amazing" lightly. I have cues by Tim Scruggs, Richard Black, Tad, Travis Niklich (Blackcreek) and others. If they aren't in the same class as anyone else's work, then I would like to know whose work you are referring to. The "defects" that you marked out on the shaft collars are called "lint". Here is a picture minus said lint.

for one thing you're showing the other shaft on the left side of the picture because it has the same of what looks to be a maple chip next to the inside of the collar. the same one i said i couldn't be sure if there was the same defect. the shaft that i said had the defect is the one on the right and it's not from "lint"......not to mention look at how "rough" the tap threading is and on the one you're showing plus the phenolic collar is showing a shadow which leaves me to believe it isn't flush with the maple.........both far from "amazing"....compare yours to the two new un-played shafts below. do you see the differences? the thread tap is smooth not mangled like in yours and the collars show no gaps or defects in fitting whatsoever. what i would expect from very good makers let alone "amazing" ones...... all in all as i said as long as your happy that's what matters...........

I stand corrected. As I usually deal with piloted joint cues such as the Black, Scruggs and Tads that I own, I wasn't aware of how much better the joint collars and threads could be on a 3/8-10 joint. The examples you showed make the difference abundantly clear.
