it shrinks in Vegas, takes along time but it does, then I can bring the cue to LA and in as much time it goes back to normal. Lots of woods do that as Vegas is hell on cues. Single digit humidity 90% of the time is hell on your skin too. The only exception is real old cues from the mid 70 and eariler seem to be ok, I have a lot of cues and pay careful attention to this
Wood continues to shrink and swell over time. Though this can be minimized once it reaches EMC...equilibrium moisture content. Finishes can also minimize movement by creating kind of an atmospheric vacuum.
