Wow, Konstantin Stepanov found a gear and kicked Darren Appleton out of the European 8-ball Championship.
Darren ended up as 9th. Quarterfinals, semi and final of the 8-ball tomorrow.
Thought it was an interesting score, especially since Darren has said that he will play anyone in the world even in 8-ball, including the likes of Shane, Efren etc, and just recently he challenged to play Shane for 80 000 $ in the middle, race to 100 8-ball alternate break, if Shane comes to England to play. (He said it on TAR live chat).

I thought Darren was supposed to do better in this tournament, but young Konstantin is one of the best European players. He was ranked #1 in Europe before the Mosconi Cup last year, and don't forget he kicked Efren Reyes out of the World 9-ball Championship in Manila.
I know that the pockets on the tournament tables in the European Championship is not too tight, and I guess that the score would have been a little different if they were IPT tight.
Anyway, in a big 8-ball match in England between Darren and Shane, I will still bet on Darren. Hope this thread will help me get some good odds
