Eddie Robin's

I was just looking at an edition of Pool & Billiard from Nov 1995 borrowed from a friend. In there is an ad announcing Eddie Robin's revised edition of Winning One Pocket. This was LESS than 10 yrs ago and now there are, apparently, no copies available. The listed price was $29.00. I know from other posts that it is a highly sought after book and was wondering why it had not been republished. I know that myself and many acquaintances would love to have the chance to acquire a copy. There is a demand that is not being met --why?

For what it is worth, Eddie Robin should be around some at the US OPen one-pocket event at the Plaza hotel October 25-30, 2005. I have been "working on him" to republish a newer edition. I might be making some progress.

Robin's books are not that difficult to obtain unless you're looking to pay 29.00. Eddie Robin himself has been selling the book on Ebay recently. Try to find a second edition of Winning One Pocket, it's better than the first. More, Shots, Moves and Strategies is probably more helpful than WOP and usually sells for less.

It would be terrific if Eddie did another one-pocket book collaborating with today's greats of the game.

My guess is that the publisher of the original titles and Robin have a dispute that is preventing republication of the work.

Continue the good job, Mark. I'll be the first in line to get an autographed copy at the release party. But I won't pay what he's asking right now purely on principle.
