edge to edge aiming?

What is edge to edge aiming as taught by Mr Shuffett?????

I'll answer this in reference to the quarters system.

The most objective aspects of a cue ball and an object ball are their centers and edges.

The most objective shots for the quarters system are: 1.Center to center (straight-in) 2. Center to edge (half ball shot) ##not to be confused with center to edge aiming process
3. Edge to edge (very thin cut)

In the quarters system, when shooting an Edge to edge type shot the player should align himself with the very best perception of an edge to edge overlap. The aim and shot results from this initial alignment.

In PRO ONE, there is an edge to edge alignment for thin cuts to the right and for thin cuts to the left, each with specific adjustments that I teach in my Foundation Course.

Time & money well spent. He drastically reduced my learning curve & at my age, time is precious.

Knowledge & skill are necessary but not sufficient without scientific pedagogy. Stan is superlative on both counts.

I am confident that Stan gives the same energy & dedication to a Master or a beginner. He is a man of impeccable character & sensitivity.

Stan seems just to give back to the following crowd what he was given from his loved game- teaching is a passion: you have to love what you do, and Stan loves it too for sure like so many other experienced and nice instructors on this forum.

Stan's explanation is a good foundation, but it's hard to teach something like Pro One or other CTE systems in a forum. In February, I drove the 500 or so miles to Stan's house and spent 5 hours on Pro One with him. Made a tremendous difference. At 53, with 3 knee replacements under my belt and moderate arthritis from head to toe (actually from neck to ankle) I'm no world beater, but I was a fairly strong player before I went to see Stan and I used one of Hal Houle's many aiming methods for many years. Now, with Pro One (a very refined CTE method)... well, I'm still not a world beater, but I'm a much stronger strong player than I was. Considering my physical issues, I'm happy with my ball pocketing and position play, just the endurance and "playing through the pain" gets me on longer matches or longer days.

I know for many, a trip to Greensburg, KY to see Stan is out of the question, but I hear in the rumor mill that Stan is coming out with a DVD on Pro One in the future. In my opinion, it would be the next best thing to spending a day with Stan and would certainly be money well spent.

Stan... Thanks! I don't know if I told you, but I really enjoyed the day I was there. Not only are you a very knowledgable instructor, but you're a pleasure to talk to and just be around.

Bob
