Efren gets Lasik

I saw Efren last night at a stag derby here in Dumaguete and he's wearing a protective googles. Now I know why he's wearing it. He lasted only about four fights just to promote his exhibition match here in our place.

Whats a stag derby? Can I assume that means Cock Fights? I assume because I know that is a popular betting game there.

Hello jsp, he played in Dumaguete City (Philippines) and i saw him wearing a protective eyewear (looks more like a sport eyewear) before the tournament of 9-Ball against the local bets here together with Gandy Valle and Rudolfo Luat...
Hi CebuanoNiNoy, thanks for the update on Efren. I'm glad to see that he's already up and about doing well in tournaments. I'm sure he's still adjusting to his new pair of eyes, so the news you give is very promising. So I guess it's safe to assume he will be there to defend is WPA World 8ball Champion ship at UAE this coming weekend. This tournament will tune him up for the King of the Hill by the end of this month. Sure to be exciting for Efren fans out there.

i had P.R.S. done about 2 years ago, and i am glad i did. the weight was starting to pull me down, and it was hard for me to keep my concentration at the table.

glad i did it.
recommend it to anyone with the same problem.

p.s. P.R.S. = P-nis Reduction Surgery

I also recommend it.

All -

Christyd and others encouraged me to get it done this year. She told me I would play at least a ball better.

She was right. (Damn and you know that hurts to say that!)

I was 400/20 and 200/20 before the lasik and now I am 20/13 in both eyes. I see better now than I have in my life. Think about that, better now that I have ever seen (with or without glasses) in my life.

My very close vision 18 inches and closer is slightly worse, and they explained that this might happen and I might require reading glasses.

The price I paid was $3600. My insurance paid zero. I later found out that my insurance has negotated lower costs in a nearby larger city to about $2500 I think.

At least this has been my experience.

Without glasses/contacts, i can't see anything clear more than a foot away.
I also have astigmatism in both eyes.
Would i be a good candidate? :D

Jon

Jon, You may well be a good candidate, but just see a qualified surgeon to make sure. Usually, the evaluation is free. I had astigmatism in both eyes, and now I see better than I EVER have in my life.

I had mine done in January of this year, had the Wavefront procedure done, which, as someone mentioned, is more expensive, but it's well worth it. My vision was terrible without glasses before the Lasik. I couldn't see past the end of my arm and for years, I though all object balls were hairy! Now, I can see a flea turd at the far end of the table, but more important, the balls are look crisp and clear. My vision at last checkup was 20/20 left, 20/15 right and 20/15 total vision (I could pick up most of the 20/10 line with both eyes uncovered).

The procedure was not as uncomfortable as I thought it was. For about 8 hours or so, I felt like I had a little dust in my eyes. I had to wear the ugliest protective goggles I've ever seen for 24 hours, until the Dr. check my eyes the next day. Immediately after the surgery, I could see things I'd never seen without glasses.

Well, now here I am 10 months post Lasik and wish I'd done it when it first came out! Best thing I ever did for my pool game.

There was one small downfall as far as pool is concerned. For the first couple of months, I missed some pretty easy shots. The plain truth is that I'd never aimed with CB's and OB's that looked so clear, and that took some getting used to. But now, I love it. Great vision, great shots. And when you can see everything on the table with so much clarity, your confidence goes right up with your vision.

Later,
Bob

I remember YEARS ago that my vision was around 20/120L - 20/170R.
And i was told on my last check up that they have been getting worse since then.
The last contacts i got were -4.75/L -5.00/R
I am friggen blind.
:D
Thanks for the info Bob, I'll try and do a little research.

Jon
