Efren here, Efren there, Efren Everywhere

well maybe if you can provide here stories of a cueist who have done more magic with the cueball in a tournament, no more efren thread.

maybe if you can name a player in the past or in the present with such confidence to come to a foreign land considered a pool powerhouse under an assumed name,
no more efren thread

maybe if you can name a player whom other hall of famers/champions are asking for a spot, no more efren thread.

maybe if you can name a player who have won the top two richest purse in history of pool, no more efren thread

maybe if somebody can dislodge efren from being the most feared / idolizes player from among his fellow champions, no more efren thread

Yeah, enough about the best player in the world. I am sick and tired of hearing about pool greatness. Give me mediocrity or give me death! Would love to hear some stories about old drunk roadies instead of Bata's goodwill and prowess.

Say... did you find out about his next event yet? Huh? Huh? Anybody good enough to take second place?

Read it again, the post is at first stating the the poster is sick of reading about Efren, but curious where his next tournament. Delicious irony it is.

Sure, when Efren was born he actually had a cue in his hand, he was DESTINED to play pool!!! His mom wasn't too happy at the time though.

Efren once ran a rack of 15 balls at Hard Times with a MEUCCI.
That's gotta be tough.

Wouldn't you think that someone would try and do a documentary on Efren's life? I read so many things about him, I would like to see something on film about him also.

That's not the story I heard. I heard that when he was born, he shot out the womb at 30mph, caromed off the doctor, deflected off two walls of the delivery room with running english, caromed off a nurse, and right into the examination crib. His first words followed 10 seconds later. The baby Efren said, "I was lucky." :)

just curious what you guys would prefer, a documentary on efren's life or a dramatized, movie-version. like a realistic and detailed ed burns-type documentary or something flashy and hollywood like 'The Color of Money' but for the filipino invasion. reading all these larger than life tales about efren makes me wonder why his only film is the corny filipino movie 'Pakners.' If you're an efren fan I would recommend watching it, if only for his fight scenes. the climax where he strolls into the pool arena bloodied and bruised after beating up like twenty bad guys is classic.
