Efren is relegated to losser's bracket when he lose against the Dubai-based
Mario Tolentino, who happens to be a 5th placer last year in Dubai Open
where Efren won that one and Busta came in 2nd and Strickland and
Hohman came in 3rd and fourth respectively. Other big names like
Luat, Orcullo, Gabica (the defending champion who won hill-hill and a
came from behind at that against Ducanes).

Here is the link that will give you substantial info.

Walang problema pare. BTW, Gandy Valle is also out of the tourney. and so is Rodolfo Luat.

Thanks pre. I saw the game between Fidel Punzalan and Luat ..and the
52 year old veteran Punzalan..just literally crushed Luat...the guy is a lefty
and his shot is just terrific, although at times his positional play is short..
but he cooly recovers it like a veteran as he is..on the other hand Luat
was just not lucky with his power breaks..many times the 1 does not show..
and of course Punzalan has just made some amazing shots..like the bank
from the bottom rail with 3 balls almost hiding it and bank it to the top left
hole.

And by the way we have mouth watering game today between Orcollo and
Pagulayan that would be one good match..to say the least.

The remaining players are for those who want to know goint to Day 3
are Sabedo, Jeff "Bata" De Luna, Alcano, Tolentino, Sibuco, Orcollo,
Pagulayan, Punzalan and Bustamante.

And by the way Efren will finally have laser eye treatment..this is long overdue...and after losing to 2 unheralded supposedly players consecutively
he finally admits that he will need an eye surgery.

Here's the story by the way.

Thanks for the updates CebuanoNinoy. Keep them coming. How far did Rubilen Amit go in the tournament before she got knocked out? Who did she beat?

BTW, you misused the word "literally" in the post above. I called it out as my first example in the "English Language Pet Peeves" thread that I started in the Non Pool Related forum. Check it out ;).

Wow, I thought the match would have been a lot closer than that. Pagulayan must really be in the zone.

Who da heck staked Efren?
Efren can't beat Alcano right now.
Efren's eyes need surgery.
Alcano doesn't miss.
A friend of mine was there two years ago.
Alcano and Orcullo were going at it.
Orcullo even beat Alex for 1 million pesos ($40,000 ). Pro-boxer Manny Pacquiao was staking Orcullo. This was before Alex won the WPC.

Yap that whats im saying/posting Orcollo wins...not Pagulayan...
Obviously my post was misunderstood by jsp...

Yap Pagulayan is finally booted out by Gallego..
But to Gallego's credit he played just awesome pool..
just one error when he scratch on the first rack after he
breaks..if we call that an error..aside from that he is just perfect..
Gallego just smash his way through and eliminated the Lion..
Interestingly Pagulayan handed the towel so to speak..when
Gallego was still shooting the 8 going to 9 on the 12th rack..
The score is 9-3...
Day 4 for the Philippine Open today..
And Bustamante and Orcollo will be playing..
Meanwhile Alcano and Jeff "Bata" De Luna will play on the other match..

To Eradictor..
Did you see the Tolentino and Andam game..
what i overheard..is that Tolentino defeated Andam..eliminating
the veteran...And this Tolentino must be something special..
because he already defeated Efren on the 1st Day..

Joey, i dont know who Efren's manager was but i think Ronnie's manager was Manny Pacquiao. i just hope Efren's laser surgery will be done in time for IPT, if he'll join... BTW, Efren's using his ER cue again for his break cue. :D :)

CN, Yup, i was there when Tolentino defeated Andam.. he is a great player. he was fourth in the Dubai open where Efren placed 1st.

I think i remember this guy...when i was with one of the tirador
here in Cebu, named John...we were in Boracay then way back 1990...
and after playing around Boracay..John played in Aklan..where Mario
was basing..then...the guy played...awesome that time..they played
even with my friend....but those were the days... :D Of course they
played rotation..

excuse me guys, When you play rotation, or gamble at it, is it like 9-ball where you only win when you make the 15 ball, and play sets?, or are there other money balls along the way, like 5/9/etc.....Thanx....Gerry

As far as I know, if you count the numbers from 1 to 15 the sum would be 120, so you need to sink 61 in order to win. If you sink ball 1 till ball 11, you win, combination will do, so you can win sinking less balls. If you you gave your opponent the ten, or 15, then after the break, he will remove the ball and count it as his.
