Cheche Lazaro, the Philippines' premiere broadcast journalist,
interviewed Efren Bata Reyes at the AMF-Puyat Superbowl
in Makati City.

The interview also features a one pocket game between
Efren Reyes and AZBilliards and bilyar.NET's very own
Jeffrey Elliott aka Masirib5! And I kid you not!

The interview will be telecast on the July 22, 2009 episode of
The Probe on ABS-CBN, Channel 2. For friends in the United States,
I believe it will also be televised on cable TV via The Filipino Channel
(TFC) network.

That would be GREAT news. Even better, if the US broadcast will be translated, otherwise I have to sit with my Pinoy buddies and get the scoop. :smile:

My player can't seem to record. :(
But, I'll go ask one of my good buddies
if he can do it.

If my buddy could record it, then I will provide
a transcript (in English) of the entire show.

Man, i've watched Bata play and interviewed
countless time, but each time is like totally exciting
and all! There's something in him that makes
everyone listen to him. Even Masirib5, who couldn't
understand a word Bata was saying during the interview
was intently listening to The Magician then.

Could it be because of Bata's voice? The way he speaks?
His charm? Everything? One thing I do know is that
I, we all are, fortunate to witness the greatness
of the poor kid who made good in his lifetime.

WTF? I would never shoot with a tip like that! I now have to rethink everything I ever knew and believed in. :eek::eek::eek:

AnitoKid, maybe I'm asking too much, but if you are going to translate it, could you make up a subtitles file? I believe it is the easieast part comapred to translation itself. Together with *.srt file the show would be great to watch for every pool fan around the world.
 
I have asked a good friend of mine to tape the episode.
And he has agreed to do so. Let's keep our fingers crossed! :)

Someone knows how to take a photograph! :thumbup:
The hi-res digital photo of this photograph could be shared with people around the world. Interested people could upload the file and have it printed at Kinko's, framed and put in pool hall around the world.

This image looks pretty good by itself but a hi-res image would be even better, especially if people wanted to do a large image poster.

I did not know Cheche was a female and this makes the interview all the more interesting.

Hope someone records it. I have searched for a way to watch it on ANTS or some other Internet TV to no avail. MY Pinoy buddy doesn not have the Filipinio channel any longer.

I think it's more of respect that he gets from people around the world. That's why they listen to him when he talks.

I have neve done that before but upon checking I must say it takes time, though not very complicated. One has to use special software like Subtitle Workshop or DSRT and type appropriate frame timing parameters.
Seems like too much of a hassle for this particular task, just type the phrases and we will cope with that. We can open the English version in a separate window adjacent to the video.
