I think if there is an announcement it will either be:

The Reyes Cup, which IMO would be the Philippines vs the world.
The Philippines Open, along with the Reyes Juniors, another major MR event.
Or, no announcement, and he's simply there to provide fan entertaiment.

the philippines is strong enough to field a team, but considering the situation with the WPA i would think MR wants to create incentives for all asian players, not just filipinos.
