Yep. Simple, right?

All balls made on that shot are spotted + 1 of the shooter's as a penalty (you can owe balls if you have none to spot). If the CB stays on the table (bad hit, etc.) it's played where it lies; otherwise ball in hand in the kitchen.

The quality of video made this match look old, but looking closer, I see they are playing on a Gold Crown IV.

Judging by the clothes, the GC 4 and the commentator mentioning Alex P. as an up and comer, I would guess this match to be from 1997 or 1998. I think I heard Jay Helfert announcing in the background too.

Great post!!!! Great match!!!!

Just a bump to see if anyone knows who was doing the commentary, what tourney it was, and who won?

This match takes place at HardTimes in Sacramento back when they used to have the Summer and Winter Jamborees right after or before the Reno Open.

The commentator is a gentleman by the name of JJ. He had a "accu stats" type thing going, but on a much smaller scale. JJ would go up and down the west coast, staying mainly in the Los Angeles area and film tournaments or action challenges at the South Bay Billiards Club in El Segundo, CA. I have several of his tapes. Good guy. This was before my playing days, but I remember seeing him around as a kid and going to these tourneys to watch my dad play and help him work on the tables before the tourney... This was in mid early to mid 90's for sure...

I want to say it's Strawberry Brooks doing the commentary, but I"m not 100% sure.

I have some older vids called "Railbird video" with the same guy doing the commentary from Hard Times billiards.

Yeah, it was definitely 1999 at Hard Times in Sacramento. This guy JJ who filmed the match did the commentary. There is no booth; he is just up in the stands with his camera and talks softly. I don’t remember, but that could be my silhouette at the very end of the tape.
