Hey guys. I'm writing an article and trying to remember the details of a story about Efren. It was about him taking his tournament winnings ($25,000), buying a truck, and using it to get his countrymen out of an earthquake ravaged area of the Philipines. Is that how it went? Anyone know?
 
Honest to God, I heard a rumor that he emptied his bank account and sent it as a donation after an earthquake or a typhoon. Could be just a rumor but that's what I heard.

You mean right after the Mt Pinatubo went off?
He gave people money so they could get out of Pampangga.
That was in 1991.
