You're right. I didn't post when they would play. I am sorry I should have clarified that.
This is a grueling format. There is no doubt that this format allows each player plenty of time to do everything they know how to do in one pocket. No one wins a match accidentally here. The match MIGHT turn on a good roll at hill-hill but both players had to fight it out to get to hill hill.
Glad to see a long race format though.
Although I agree with Scott Frost that the final should be one set, maybe a longer one.
One long set is good enough, the better player will win 75-80% of the time.
4-4 games - I missed what happened after they came back. My internet here in China SUCKS today so the stream keeps freezing. Will be so happy to be out of here - this so-called fiber optic line is crap.

Efren lays down a good break. Efren clears his own pocket trying to spin bank a ball. Bustamante pushes the stack his direction and Efren takes a flyer cut that he misses by a ball. Although Efren opened the stack on Busty's side he held the cueball and kept it safe. Busty elects to just push more balls to his side.

All Efren can do is keep sticking the cue ball to the open balls facing Efren's side. Efren gets an alley to clear out balls. Busty failed to protect his position.
Efren tried some kind of trick carom instead of blasting the two out and taking more balls with it. Efren sold out the game on that shot.

Efren is on tilt a little bit. After Busty's break he wanted to bank a ball but then cuaght another ball and blew the stack open for Busty.
But Busty ends up with a tricky angle and misses the 13 trying to get shape. Efren doddge a major bullet there.

Scott isn't barking at Efren because of a move. He just wants to play cheap because he likes to play Efren. He had already asked Efren to play before the set with Busty.
Efren is WELL KNOWN for gambling ceaselessly. At DCC this year he was playing cheap one hole with a fan on a side table while the finals were going on and giving up a lot of weight.
As for Efren not playing well....who knows....Busty put him in some pretty tough situations. Maybe Efren had a little give up stroke happening or maybe not.
Ok, Scott and Efren are playing a race to 3 for an unknown amount. I will guess it's probably $500 or a $1000.

To give EVERY player a second chance after they lose. Just because one wins the hot seat doesnt mean that his entitlement to a second loss is foresaked. You have to be beaten TWICE to be eliminated. Efren has not been eliminated yet. He still has another 'bullet'.
