Efren.......where Are You?

Taiwanese are happy playing at home is because taiwanese has their own tournments. Their organization is strong and active. If they want to win the fame and more money, WPC and asian tours are the best stage. For example, Chang Jung-Lin has owned over US$30,000 in the past three months; Orcullo was famous in USA and the Philippines, but I think Alcano is more famous than he in the whole world.
I agree but this just proves that Sprite's reply was out-of-line since the initial poster is from North America (Calgary, Canada). He, Sprite, really doesn't share the sentiments of people from regions other than Southeast Asia so he should have just stayed out of the thread. Obviously, the initial poster appreciates what Efren has contributed to this sport. Sprite's obviously is envy.

As I know, in the Philippines they only have few big tournments one year, and the most players must make a living by playing the gamble games or joining the tours in Japan or USA. In fact, according to the statistics there are ten percent of the population of the Philippines are working outside their own country.
??? This is plain old economic and business ignorance on your part. Manpower is an exportable commodity and other countries look to the Philippines for their manpower shortage. The Filipinos' ability to communicate in English, easily learn other languages and do work at a high level of proficiency is an advantage.

Beside, I remember not only Yang but also other taiwanese has ever earned much extra income from the pinoys in the money games during the 2006 Philippines WPC. I'm sure taiwanese are very confident gambling outside their territory, especially in the Philippines.
You must mean within their comfort zone. Smart gamblers I'd agree but their fans as forum posters????

Going back to the topic, Efren won over local player "Lolong" with 6-8-10 handicap last night and over Jerome Pena tonight with 7-10, both games played at One Side pool hall.

I heard he was playing Lolong ("Mukha ba yan!") but the match wasn't finished when I got my report. What was the score?

I remember Lolong lost 16-17 to Bustamante in February with the same handicap... People who doesn't know Lolong might think he is a bad player because of the handicap he gets from Efren and Busta, but he is actually quite good. I believe he would do pretty ok on international tournaments, though I doubt he would win any.

Thought it would make some of you Filipinos laughing ;) Called Lolong that all the time at One Side. He's a funny guy and a good player.

Is it true what I read in another thread that Bustamante has moved to US?
