Eisenmeister wrap?

Eisenmeister wrap for an additional 75 cents:) --- looks like it might be extra fancy string wrap pattern over the wrap. Do you know exactly what it is? Very cool, thanks.

I read somewhere, I think the "Billiard Encyclopedia", that it's never been figured out how the Eisenmeister wrap was put on. They were very common at the time, so you see several on ebay each year.

Not so "secret" anymore. :) :)

Great information but I too would like to know more about the wrap, what it is and how it is put on.

There was a 'beat-up' Eisenmeister on ebay last year, that only had half the wrap - I don't remember all the details, but I remember seeing some cuts in the exposed handle that might have given some hints. I thought about buying it, just for the opportunity to learn more, but decided $300+ was too much to pay for that education.

wrap?

it is basically a wrap popularized by fly fishing enthusiasts... it takes for ever to do and runs up the $$, basically it is useless "Rod Bling"

It is a woven silk wrap that Brunswick put on some cues from 1912 to 1923.

The above quote comes from the "Ask the Cuemaker" section where I posted about this subject.

according to brunswick catalogs.............

One of the old bbc catalogs I have goes into more detail about why these wraps were made. The catalog shown in the link does not. Since a wrap could be nicked in one single place thus allowing the whole wrap to unwind when cut, bbc had this design made that is not only woven together, but also made from SIX PIECES of cord. I have one of these with a 100 percent mint perfect wrap. I also have 2 of them that were put through hell and look like hammered s*#t. But although the wrap took a hellacious beating, it did not unwind a bit. So these are not rare because of wear but because it cost extra to have this wrap put on. And it was ALSO decorative.
