Elevating cue butt for long draw

Low vs elevation for draw

IMO, to be able to do the elevation and make whitey draw back exactly where you want takes a whole lot of skill. I do use cue elevation sometimes. Sometimes it is not practical to use low and level imo due to the lay of the table etc. Sometimes my gut just tells me to elevate and I do that.

In a critical situation, assuming I am not cramped in my bridge etc and can do low and level, I do use that. I think it is easier for someone who does not have as much of a touch as say someone like Larry.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why not both? I think it is good to know how to do both and to practice both.

There is no way on God's green earth a west of England cloth is as fast as 860.

LOL Keith that is classic. I was thinking something similar.:D

Fast Larry-

Dont be dismayed by other people. From your writings you come off as being supremely confident in your skills and knowledge of pool. Why, with that level of confidence, are you so easily bothered by what other, less experienced players than you, have to say about your observations?

Hye larry, I just got told you can't shoot for shit, what the hell are you doing bringing out books and CDS? Can you sing and dance or something?

I am trying to stay off forums for health reasons but....I do not know who said that Larry cannot shoot but that is a lie. Regardless of whether you like a person or not, it is best to separate personal feelings from evaluating the skills of a person.

To say that Larry cannot shoot is downright laughable and my husband who is a good shooter, would certainly back me on this.

This is not just about Larry either, I would not say half of the things that have been said in this thread,
on any side of this rather silly interaction between people calling themselves adults.:(

Quote FL,

It's that ccb trash coming over here I can't stand, a entire board of sl3's teaching other sl 3's, all bozo morons, its a sick joke. It's an entire board of born losers and chokers. Those are the kind of people I want nothing to do with. They make me want to puke. Fast Larry Guninger.

Either they need help , or you do .

To tar every member of another board with the same brush, is an insult to the good people from the CB. I am sure there are some who would agree with me that you should let bygones be bygones and let it go .

Just a suggestion .
Gabber.

Damn, guys. This thread started out as something interesting. It sure went down-hill fast though.

All of the name calling has been removed. Can everyone please stick to the topic of pool and cut out the name calling.

Mike

The reason snooker players don't go around artistic pool tournaments is because they don't pay 75-100,000 pounds.

geez, if you don't wanna get into fight with others here and want to listen to you this is not the right way...i notice that if you disagree with someone here all you do is bang em. I'm sure your good at wut you do even though i've never heard of you not trying to pick a fight with you but, if you want people to listen to you and learn from you you shouldn't keep banging em.
I respect your post but, everytime you disagree with someone you always bring out the worse in you.

Hey guys, he's just an old frustrated wannabe. Any Pro standard player will see from his comments that he can't play for sh#t. Why else does he concentrate on trick shots and spped pool. I have never seen the guy play, but quite a few guys have told me in the last few weeks that he can't shoot for sh$t! LOL

You know what they say about those that talk about it!

To be honest I am starting to wonder if the guy has actually picked up a cue before in his life and he writes/sounds like a little school kid with all his silly comments?

Can anyone confrim this guy exists?

YUP. Larry has been in my home. Yes he can shoot. In fact, he stayed on me until I could do this six rail kick shot, suposedly to teach me how to use more power. I did not know it was a trick shot until I saw it on TV. Too bad my sl7 hubbie is not on here, he knows more because they played pool.

You're all wrong!

The best way to draw a ball is with a sharp number two pencil or charcoal on sketch paper. Ask any artist and he will tell you the same.

And what's art have to do with pool?

Regards,

Ken (sorry...hey, it's my birthday so excuse me.)

Buddy said it himself, "Medium stroke. If you hit it too hard, you're defeating the purpose." You'll have to convince yourself this is true. That shot can be made with a level cue or raised. I noticed he had about a 6" bridge.

You'll need to be able to make long draws with a level cue and jacked up. Master them both. You'll need to be able to make draws with both a smooth stroke and a punch stroke. Master them both. Find the benefits and draw backs of each.

Try standing more upright with a more open stance for long draws. If you're miscueing, your tip is probably contacting the table before the object ball.

In general, the lighter a cue ball is, the better it draws. A snooker ball draws easier than a pool ball. A cue ball lighter than the object ball draws better. A cue ball heavier than the object ball draws worse.

Re Fl- snooker stroke

From Fast Larry, snooker players are a bunch of jabbers, most have almost no follow through, they punch and jab.

The essence of the snooker stroke is the follow through. You always let the cue go.

Well said, but there's no point, FL doesn't have a clue! He thinks you can pot black after black for gods sake! He's probably never seen/played a game of snooker in his life. Maybe on a US style table or on a bar box LOL!

i thought his last name is Guninger...now it's Grindinger..which is it? Are they the same guy?

I do not think Larry will be back for awhile. Not positive but think he is busy doing shows, etc. Yep. same person. One is a real name. One (Guninger) is a 'stage' name.
