Anyone use these? They seem to be at the same price point as ultraskin tips, are they the same quality and play? Better, worse?

I will give my first impressions in about 2 weeks, ordered 20 and they are clearing customs right now. Have many shafts ready for them to be put on and tested. I have not tried ultraskins yet though, so I will be able to compare them just to the normal kamui/g2/milk dud stuff.

Ok, just installed a bunch of elites today, tried out the SS on various shafts.

PRO:
The glue used in them is good, up to par with premium brands, no doubt about it. This was my main concern before ordering them. One tip out of 20 had a thicker glue line than the rest between one of the layers for some reason (am guessing not vacuum pressed), so I went ahead and installed it to see if it would fail there during installation. It didn't, and I wasn't babying it, so that was a pleasant experience that gave me full confidence in them not falling apart as other ''budget'' tips I've tried, even though it looks a bit funny with quite a thicker glue line. And since it was only 1 tip like this, on only 1 layer, I can chalk it up to a negligible production event.

PRO:
My second concern was the ''elasticity'' of the leather. Here it becomes a bit more subjective. The tip does perform well, no doubt about it. It applies spin well (not amazingly well, but quite well), holds chalk very well, even though it looks a bit on the smoother side when shaped (not that fuzzy looking as I expected it to be). But, since it didn't glaze on me while I was blasting draw shots, it's a non issue.

PRO:
Mushrooming was very, very minimal in the few hour session I had with the tip, so that's great, as this is the main reason I decided to pick them up (I got tired of taking care of my milk duds...).

PRO:
The price.

CON:
I do wish they were more elastic... 15% or so more would be ideal. I think this leather is either a bit on the drier side (not sure of production date?), or due to whatever chemical treatment, it feels like it at least. The SS for me feels like an S that I've played with for 2 weeks from another brand. And just holding it in my hand immediately gave this feeling. If they were 15% more ''humid'' or ''alive'', they would be the bomb.


OPINION:
This tip seems to be exactly what I was looking for: a budget friendly, low maintenance tip, that performs well. Is it the best tip out there? No. But it does what no other tip seems to do: play well for a reasonable price (very reasonable at that!). So, I will be stocking these for myself and the local pool community, as it has it's place. It's low maintenance, and gets the job done. If you're familiar with the 80/20 rule, I think this tip is pretty much the embodiment of that.

It seems to sit nicely at that 80% performance for 20% of the cost rule. If anyone wants more performance, you can get it of course, but at what cost?

I will definitely order them again, but next time I will probably pick different colored ones, to see if they have a different humidity/elasticity between them. Regardless if that's the case or not, for the price, these tips fit my use case for them perfectly, and I don't really see any alternative to them for this price/performance ratio. They seem to have hit a sweet spot in this industry, so I'm impressed to be honest.

If you had a med of each type of tip, this is how I would compare the playability:
The Black layered tip is our basic layered tip. It stands apart from the others. The black tip has decent grip, feel, feedback and chalk adhesion. The Original Brown, Elite and Platinum tips are our middle ground tips. They are constructed from a little bit better grade pig skin, as compared to the Black tip. All three have little more responsiveness, grip, feel and feedback as compared to the Black tip. The Premium Red and Premium Tan tips are our best performing layered tips. They are constructed from premium pig skin, which come from the back part of the boar. The back part of the boar is the thickest part of leather, which offers the best grade of leather. The Premium tips have the best responsiveness, elasticity, grip, feel and feedback as compared to the previous tips mentioned. The biggest difference is noticeable between the Black tips and Premium tips. Hope this info helps a little more.
