Pretty interesting setup. I have bought one of those six wing cutters from Chris, hopefully the deluxe lathe and accessories wil be here in a couple of weeksKim, I think live cutting is the way to go. It is rare that I use a blade these days. I can also dial in the radius that the customer wants. I am using a diamond wing cutter, but I believe that there are very well priced 2 tooth diamond cutters available now. Used in the kitchen cabinet manufacturing industry. The ones I am aware of are all 12mm or 1/2 inch shanks. I got an early video clip trimming a blue diamond tip for a snooker cue.

I have a lexan guard and a vacuum collector on it now, with a new headstock. I also made a Vee block to trim regular cue tips.

I think that tip is one of Jeffs Milk duds.

Do you use live cutting on layered tips too?
I'm getting my Kress mount this week, I'm gonna experiment with live cutting. I have seen a video from dzcues, where he uses a carbide end mill bit to trim tips and ferrules.
Gonna be fun to try![]()
