Embracing reality, no longer improving my game

This is so true. Also thanks for bringing up the Ghost challenge. I might give that a go. I did the 14.1 challenge a few years back when I was able to play more, it was really fun.

You guys have added some needed perspective here. On the negative side of the ledger, I am not able to become a stone cold world champion. On the plus side of the ledger, we own two cars with no car payment and will have our house paid off in less than a year. It will feel really good not to have to crack that nut each month anymore...

Here is another challenge thread from the instructors forum.

This one is extremely addictive and I'm looking for more videos to add to the list.

Update to this thread. I am quitting my several jobs and am going to dedicate myself to playing professional pool. My sister is liquidating her childhood beanie baby collection and is using the proceeds to offer a dollar for dollar match (up to $27.43) on your kind donations to enable me to live out my dreams. Does anyone know how to start a go fund me account to get this cho choo train rolling?

Bring your 27.43 back to Louisville and match up in some bank pool against one of our locals. I will do you a favor and stake the local! You could leave with 54.86!

Ray Ray can get you started on the correct path to achieve your dream. YMMV

Congrats sir on the payoff; that is a great accomplishment for anyone but especially at your age. So, I have some VERY VERY good news for you. It sounds like you are wanting to get back into it more seriously and think it's time to take your game to the next level. Well sir you are in a prime position to do both. Once you no longer have that nut each month ( don't know your specifics buts let's just say all together $1500 / month ), well you can now take that $1500 / month and " INVEST " that in yourself - your pool playing carrer. That money each month will now be " free " money . What I mean is you are used to that amount of money being gone each and every month so WHATEVER you do with it from this point forward you will NEVER miss it. Take this money you use to use for a mortgage payment and make it your gambling " investment " budget. Start off small and only play $250/$500 sets. You MAY lose but then again you might just win too. There's really no downside - you could win big money but if by chance you do lose its not gonna hurt you in the slightest because this was money you have already budgeted not to have for a long time now. By gambling, you will be taking the best lessons money can buy ( pun intended ). Of course you could invest it - at what? Absolute best vase scenario 8%??? Or, you could double, triple, or even better? MOST IMPORTANTLY, you will be having a good time as you go. That's the pool player in me talking, now the business man talking - With that nut; depending where you live you could purchase multiple income producing properties. Residual monthly income ranging from $600 - $3k-$4k??? Oh hell, send some of it in - it's fun lol 😆
