Emergency butt sleeve

I just ruined a butt sleeve I was going to put on a near finished size cue. I have some Paduak that has been sitting in my shop for a couple of years that is 1 1/2" square. Can I turn that round a little oversize and start using it immediatly? It would go from 1 1/2" square and 5" long to 1.350 round. Would I have any problems with a piece that short? I should mention it is going over a .750" tenon.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

That'll work just fine going over a 3/4 tenon. If you built it with the tenon on the Paduak going into the handle, it would be iffy but as a sleeve there should be no problem.
