No not really! I just wanted the best wife I could get and there are no better women on earth, than the Filipinas. Not to get into a lengthy disertation on the subject, but the culture in the Philippines is a lot different. For one thing, there is NO divorce in the Philippines. This influences the people to make the best of their marriage instead of changing partners every 7-10 years the way American's have come to do. Every man should know the joy of being married to a Filipina! There's just nothing like it!

This reminds me of a funny story Grady Mathews told me many years ago. He said I'm never getting married again! Instead I'm just going to pick some woman I hate and buy her a house! It works out the same in the long run and there's a lot less stress and anxiety involved! lol

just more hot air!

Sherm>> OOps, my old VCR doesn't seem to work today! May be a day or so before I can provide the translation!

Congratulations on your happy marriage, cuesmith! Everyone should be so lucky!
I've been around myself and I can tell you that I have yet to encounter a more friendly people (in general, of course. I'm sure there are assholes and opportunists out there, too, but all in all, they're a great bunch of guys -- if you take out their politicians, hehe. Also, city-folk tend to be more cynical of foreigners compared to the rural-folk, but who can blame them???). Everyone should visit the Philippines at least once in their life, if only to see the great beaches and experience filipino hospitality firsthand!!! also, billiards action is never hard to find. They just love taking our hard-earned dollars!!! hehe Best money i've ever spent!

I have never seen it or heard the interview but I am guessing it goes something like this

English announcer: "Efren, that was amazing how did you do it?"

Efren in broken English "Earl is a great player, I was lucky to win"

Philippine Announcer "Efren the Magician Reyes does it again proving the Philippines is still the leader of the pool world by beating on Earl Strickland yet again! That was amazing, how did you do it?"

Efren in Philippine "I just love beating that guy, nothing like watching him squirm. I coulda beat him worse then that but I figured on letting him get close and then snapping it away from him at the last minute, that kind of thing really lingers on a guy and he wont shoot worth shit against me for the next 3 years now, haha! The funny thing is any one of the top 20 people in the Philippines could have done the same and smacked him around in that match, we are just THAT good! Do you relize not one player in the entire of North America will play me straight up in 9-ball OR 1-pocket? I was thinking of starting up straight pool but within a month of playing that I am sure I could get no straight up action in that game either."
Hilarious. The only thing missing was Efren walking up to mark the announcer, slapping him upside the head and saying "Yeah that earl sure can shoot"...BUT I'm the man chumpchange.

The best pool players and the nicest looking ladies in the world all in one place... I still can't believe I haven't gone there yet.

Almond shaped eyes bringing me some lumpia and adobo....can think of worse things than that.

Yes and they are also very industrious people as well. My wife wants a newer car. She's a nurses aide and is working a full time 3rd shift job and a part time 1st shift job in order to save up the money to purchase the car without financing it. She also sends a good bit home to the Philippines to help her family. She's also enrolling in nursing school and plans to give up the part time job for a full time nurses training. She already has a degree in Elementary education but due to the high demand for nurses in the US, and the pay she can get after a couple of more years of school, she's decided to change fields. The energy and enthusiasm she has amazes me. On top of that, she's young, beautiful, loving and very devoted. In case you hadn't figured it out, I'm the luckiest guy on earth and I thank the Lord many times each day for my little Filipina!

Met quite a few Phillipino women and all of them were either nurses or in the nursing field. Then on trips home they would come back with gold chains to sell. New regulations allow nurses to work in any State and they sure are in demand. Jake
