Thanks for the post PJ.
Quick question though. Should your bridge be placed at the cues pivot point?
I think you should bridge where you're most comfortable, and if that happens to coincide with your shaft's pivot point (if you have a common non-low-squirt normal-tip-width shaft), then you'll get some benefit with easier-to-use back hand english for applying sidespin and a little more forgiveness of stroke errors. Thanks for the post PJ.

My recommendation as follows:
1. By having small tip say 11.75 mm you would not need to go all the way to edge of CB, that reduce the CB deflection,
2. You need to learn what you cue does at different pivot points (a must)
3. practice straight shots starting with CB at head string and increase OB distance from CB by 1/2 diamond
4. Hit with 1/4, 1/2,3/4, 1 tip follow through always above center, level cue and a bit hard make sure it is always rolling CB so you do not stun the OB and mix deflection with english throw.
5. keep record where OB hits
Once you have good idea, start shooting by adjusting your aim as found in step 5 at times due to steep angle shot adjustment might be tricky
6. Learn to distinguish between throw, squirt, swerve so at advance level you will learn to change adjustment to aim when all are combined.
7 Lastly be careful, at times you think you are pivoted, but not if your cue parallel to center line there will be very minimal CB deflection.
1. You can't go "all the way to the edge of the CB" with any cue - the miscue limit is halfway to the edge....By having small tip say 11.75 mm you would not need to go all the way to edge of CB, that reduce the CB deflection

2. No matter what size tip you use, you have to hit the same distance from center to get the same spin.

Yes, I agree they "tend to", but it's important to know the reason so you'll know the exceptions: larger tips tend to produce more squirt because they tend to have more "end mass" (weight in the last several inches near the tip). An obvious exception is Predator's original shafts, which had fat tips that were drilled hollow to be low squirt....hope you agree that
Larger tips tends to produce more deflection on CB.
