I believe that may actually be what it is, that's definitely a gold collar and possibly a gold trim ring in the buttsleeve, also the screw on tips are definitely something Palmer did.Is that thing legit? There's just something that doesn't look right about it.
I think that's what looked odd. The gold doesn't tarnish so it isn't showing its age like the rest of the cue.that's definitely a gold collar
I think the joint is brass and it is polished.I think that's what looked odd. The gold doesn't tarnish so it isn't showing its age like the rest of the cue.
This is attributed to the Blue Book in IMHO. They have the Premier at $ 800.00 in the book. But more importantly it maybe a Sampaio but it is definitely a 70's version. They tried to make them look like American cues with the rings, etc.. The two I show here are the imported versions from the early 60's with ivory butt plates.Like this

I agree, actually own several Sampaio cues and at one point had a Paradise conversion. They play great for a conical taper shorty but I think in the modern market they are not even bringing 1/3 of that price, partially due to the atrocious knockoffs and the funky double sided brass joint (which is actually the only double sided metal joint that I've ever been impressed with). This is attributed to the Blue Book in IMHO.
