Entry fee

Well I have another tournament coming up at greenfields nov. 20-21. I'll lower the entry to $50 which includes green fees. We will see if that draws more players from that area.

I wish jacksonville had something close like this. The only thing like it is in gainsville on big tables and is once a month.

So here's my thoughts
A players go to 9. $45 entry + green fee
B players go to 7. $35 entry + green fee
C players go to 5. $25 entry + green fee

I think this would draw all skill leveled players and
keep it fair.

But the cream always rises to the top

Have you ever consider going out to the Rooms, and Bars you expect to draw from. and ask Pool Players why they are not playing in you events.

You may just get the answer you need to hear, to adjust to you target audiences wants.

From what I'm gathering. The places I'm going are not advertising at all for themselves. No flyers on the walls. Which I provide. People just say they didn't know about it

Advertising sells bad, & good products, and services. APA spend a lot of GREEN Advertising their League in PHX, AZ, and APA has like 300,000 MEMBERS Nationwide!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, individual insight is very helpful. I do the SWTBT website, I'll help Chris implement communication improvements. Keep sending ideas!

The last tournament in Indianapolis at Brickyard Billiards was a $100 entry fee with $1500 added and it was full. The times before that is was $75 entry and I think the least they had was 54 or 55 once. If a tournament is run right and the players are happy it will be a success. Like someone posted earlier, there are several categories of players that will play in certain tournaments. The lesser skill level players are going to favor a lower entry fee tournament as to where the better players are not going to mind spending more money for good payday in return.
9th Annual Turkey Blowout, 8-ball handicapped, last few tournament's had 90 to over 100 players, low skilled handicapped player is guaranteed the final three. proven to be the best 8 ball tournament in town. lots of great food and alcohol. Lots of action. The friday after thanksgiving, calcutta starts at 12 noon. ALSO JOHN WAYNES IS NOW HOSTING THE NEWEST LEAGUE IN TOWN (TAP), 10 times better than the APA, You get all the cash at the nationals-$15,000, not half cash and half prizes, you get it all. come on in and form a team.
