Epoxy and Release Agent

I have a break cue that has a wood to wood joint with a big wood screw on the shaft. Well after breaking a good 30-40 racks tonight, it finally crapped out. It's way loose now and the threads stripped out in the butt. I ton of saw dust fell out. It's a cheapy but I feel I can repair it.

I was thinking of applying some release agent to the shaft and putting epoxy in the open joint. Then letting it cure.

Smart idea? Or should I bring it to a cuesmith?

If there was dust coming out of the hole,
I would toss the cue

Even if you plug and re tap the hole,
The plug is bein glues to a poor wood and will not hold.

That's true. I'm more than likely going to send it back. It's two weeks old.
