Why isn't proficient billiards in the sticky? I can understand the reasoning behind not putting cuebux or whats his name up there because of lack of sales, etc. on the board. However, proficient billiards is highly respectable... I didn't know they offered escrow services. But I would have known had it been in the sticky... . :D

The more respected escrow services that are in the sticky, then less threads appear about getting ripped off.

Ok, I buy a cue from some guy use escrow service. A few months later I send it to the maker who informs me it's not one of his despite the butt cap. Is this part of the escrow service? Or am I just SOL......

DEPENDS..... IF YOU USE AN ESCROW SERVICE CAPABLE OF DOING, OR ATTAINING SUCH AN ID, AND IF YOU PAID FOR THE ID VERIFICATION, THAN I WOULD SAY IT'S ON THE SERVICE.

IF IT'S JUST A PLAIN OLD ESCROW DEAL, THAN NO, IT'S ON THE SELLER.

Authenication is an OPTION with some ESCROW services.:)

THOSE ARE BIG WORDS......LOL....

I WOULD BE WILLING TO GET THE CUE VERIFIED BY THE MAKER IF THAT SERVICE WAS REQUESTED. IT WOULD JUST ADD TIME TO THE ESCROW SERVICE.

My 2 Cents

When looking for an escrow service I think the level of service expected should be discussed between all 3 parties.

Buska's, Gus's ,Kersh's, Early Gina's ect that are not marked need a letter otherwise I'm not buying and neither are a lot of other people. Most of the buyers for these cues already know who they need to contact to verify the cue.

If the seller is unwilling to authenticate . YOU SHOULD PASS ON THE DEAL!

$20 is way to cheap. $50 is more reasonable for the amount of work required.

Cuebux nothing against you but I think you will need to build a rep here before people will be willing to use your service. I may be wrong though.

It's tough when your first getting started in cue game . I've been burned but I've also learned something from every deal. There are many great sellers and buyers on here the key is to take your time and learn who they are.

IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT PROBABLY IS!
