ESpring Amway cup?

Amway Event

Saw on OB Cues' Facebook that it started today (Thursday). Anyone know a link to stream it? Asked in the Main forum, didn't get an answer.

I watched five matches from this event yesterday on Youtube.

Despite the fact that no English was spoken by the commentators and the names of most players were not posted in English, I thoroughly enjoyed watching AND listening to the coverage.

The production quality was excellent. HD and great camera work, great venue.

I actually enjoyed the "commentary"...I could pretty much guess what the commentators were saying because one of them was clearly an expert as evidenced by his use of the telestrator. I doubt either one of them spent any time bragging about what a wonderful job they were doing, or what they had for dinner, or what they were drinking. And no silent stretches lasting for games, like some US streamers.

The score was posted and kept up to date.

The commentators expressed their joy for great shots, and their sadness over a bad roll. Very entertaining, despite not being broadcast in English!

The play was at times mediocre, but generally very high level. Wish I knew more about these great Asian women players (other than the few we see on American TV).

I also appreciated that there was no sharking or arguing...only respect and courtesy! This is one of the main reasons I love to watch the women players!

Semis so far:
K. Fisher beat Kawahara 9-7
Amit beat YR Cha 9-7

Quarters cont:
SM Chen beat XF Fu 9-6
Cy "Rita" Chou beat GY Kim 9-5

Semis:
Fisher defeats Amit 9-8
Chou defeats Chen 9-7

Finals:
Chou defeats Fisher 11-8

And no report whatsoever from AZ, at least not seen on the frontpage.
The prize money for the crowned player, I believe, is USD34,000.

Congratulations to Chou on winning the toughest women's 9ball event in the world, though I was rooting for Kelly all the way during the finals (I'm from Taiwan.)

With the exception of the recent WPBA Masters, I've noticed the women often get no love on AZB, the forum and main page, and Asian tournaments may as well not exist

If they don't send results and press releases to AZB it probably won't get posted. Johnnyt
