so, if i have a cue, and the fair market value is $500, but i don't really want to sell it, but i offer it up and try to sell it for say ~$600 (if no takers no problem, but there could always be someone out there whose willing to pay more).... do you guys think this is ok?

any thoughts appreciated.

just fine....

i recently bought a cue that a guy priced to me cheap.... (meucci, 2 shafts, mint condition for 250)

i didnt really like the hit of it... sold it five days later when a guy asked me what i wanted and i said 300....

sure the guy who sold it to me might be a hair uptight about it... but i think he'll live.

I do the opposite

If I offer a cue for sale and someone likes it but later says well how about will you take less? My price will always go up because I never need to sell or have my nuts crushed and if they want it and like my sale price it is always firm. Later if I choose to I may drop the price but never to a hard a$$ This is really true if I see some one at a later date and they say specificly hay you have that cue still? If I say yes I never want to hear will you take 100 less. NO as a matter a fact the price went up. But if they want it for what I had told them earlier I might cut them a break it is a good way to get a nice rep. Nick

Why shouldnt it be "o.k" it is youre cue and you are entitled to get what you want for it !!! After all this is the U.S. isnt it , and we do have those freedoms....................................................:D

If I sell you a cue for $500 and you turn around and sell it the same day for $600, why should I care? I got what I needed for the cue and you just had a different market. Good for you. Nothing wrong with both of us making money.

It's great! The cue was worth $600 to that person. In his case he just set his own market value. Someone else might not think the cue is worth $50 to them. And that's the kicker. It was worth it to him.
