Anybody know the results of the tournament in Eureka I know Rafeal Martinez and Tony Chohan where there and there were only 22 or 23 people in it. They still added the $4000 from what I heard

Tony C and Billy were in the finals. we left after the old man got 3rd. payouts were 3k, 1600, 1000....

Has to be Palmer, I don't think Billy Aguire even plays a little anymore (sells cars or time shares, I think). Billy P. didn't play in the Jamboree as far as I know; he can probably only get so many days off until he gets more seniority in his union.

That and the fact Billy seems to snap off everything he plays in lately makes me think it had to be him if he was in the finals.

Billy didn't play at the Jamboree, but he was there. He has an injury and was concerned about being able to play for a long period of time. I'm not sure if he's back to work yet. He is as tough as they come, especially 1P.

I'm surprised at the low turnout as well. I used to live and play in Eureka. There is a wealthy construction company owner who usually puts up several thousand to add to the prize fund. He plays decent, but he just likes to see good players come to the event. It used to be an annual 14.1 tournament; but whatever it was, they'd draw players from all over: Oregon, WA, east CA, central CA, even Nevada. Perhaps this recent one wasn't well publicized. Eureka is a perfect place to play. There are always cool temperatures. But it's not an easy drive to get there-- from almost anywhere!
