Hi all,

dont shoot me, but i'm glad europe is on his way to finally get the cup back in europe. its been some tilme. Honestly, with shane's form and europe's choice of players i wasnt sure that either one would win. i still think it will be a close finish, but european players apear to me to have become stronger and stronger.

If you watch the eurotour results regularly, there where it would always be the same top5 to end in the topseats, today its very hard to finish in the quarterfinals regularly. the poolsport is getting alot of new players, and the young players are getting older and older, and they are filling the eurotour with talent. there where before there where like 5 guys who had a big chance to win a eurotour, now there are like 20 that could win one. There is a sh**load of topplayers entering eurotours for the first time and finishingin in hi playces, where in the states, i still see the same names coming up every time.

even if on paper, i maybe had chosen other players for europe's team, the players that are playing now just have more experience on international level then the once i posted, so i guess thats a smart thing. many european players dont have the $ to do international players, even if they are TOP players who could beat anyone, and sending them to vegas probably would be to early, and they might choke under the international presure.

I just hope players in europe will get more and mroe sponsers, and that there will be enough $ to win as a poolsportman , so that more then 5 players or so can have the chance to travel internationally. Our problem really is financing.
most players pay from there own pocket, and they usually spend all there earned money on one of two international tournaments a year. and when they go, they dont play at there speed, just because they arent used to playing in the states, or manilla, or etc.. I'm sure that if they had more $, and they would play like 10 or more international tournaments, they would play at there speed in the BIG tournaments, wpc, dcc, etc and europe could win alot of more tournaments then they are doing now.

in short: the eurotour is filled with at least 30 topplayers that could win a big tournament, but with the $ that brings the experience, it will still only be 4 or 5 players that could win it and that are those who play in the musconi cup. i'm sure that if i could make myself a second musconi team and i would let them play vs this musconitip that the odds to win would be even for each if it wasplayed in europe.

anyway, GOGOGO europe :D i'm proud of you !!

Very nice post and well stated. I understand your sentiments completely! :D

I am not in Vegas and my information about the event comes by way of hearsay. That said, Team Europe seems to have a strong spirit working together 24/7 as one united team, every member practicing together, every member in the audience rooting for their team member.

Though I am sure that Team USA wants to win as much as Team Europe, it does not seem to me from reading this forum, listening to video clips, reading the media articles, as well as hearsay coming my way, that Team USA is as strongly bonded together as Team Europe.

There is something to be said about the power of positive thinking. Team Europe is giving it their all, behind the scenes as well as during each match.

i have no idea how team europe is behind the scenes.. i mean they are from different country's, speek differnt languages, from dutch , to russian, but i think there current succes are a good reflection of the overal increase in playlevel in europe.

i wouldnt be surprised (if they win it this time), that they might win in x times in a row :D (unless an asian musconi team would enter :D, i think asia probably has the biggest amount of new topplayers.)
