Ever fall in love with an old cue again?

"Ever fall in love with an old cue again?"

I recently played with my old - mid 80's - Runde and fell for it hard again.
Old solid maple shaft super sharp points.
Stainless steel joint - my favorite by far.
Yeah....I like this thing.

I have owned a Joss cue since 1985 that I didn’t care for until about 5 years ago. I kept it because it was a gift from someone who is now departed. After learning how to fit it to my preferences, I came to appreciate it. While not my favorite cue, it is good enough for league nights.

I sold the second cue I ever bought. It was the first cue I ever fell in love with but it was lower end and I thought it was time to try lower deflection stuff like predator etc.

8 cues later and my buddy broke the shaft, so i bought the butt back for nothing and slapped the original shaft that came with it back on, and it was love all over again.

I've sold everything else now and am so glad to be reunited with this cue. If I ever buy another cue, it will be a newer look but the exact same model cue (and even then, I have my doubts about whether it will be as good as this one).

It's weird, I fully admit that other cues hit better. But there's something about just being so familiar with a cue. And even after playing with this one cue this whole time, I feel like we are just reaaaally starting to get to know each other.

That is one sweet cue Doc. If it ever does go up for sale (which I'm not counting on), please ping me. :)

For anybody interested in an H-14 there is one ending on Ebay in less than 24 hours.

Only one shaft, but it looks nice.

Vertical logo.

Thicker veneers than mine. The thin veneers like mine are unusual, I don't remember seeing another. I believe the thicker veneers are just double stacked versions of the same thickness veneers as mine.

I watchlisted .. will check tomorrow night and see how high the bid gets .. if it doesn't go much higher I'll probably grab it.
