Ever heard of Banker Lou?

I'd rather not say where I knew him from, since I don't know his situation.

Anyway, I believe he used to be from Fla. He's about 5' 8 or 9", slim wiry guy, with a quick wit and sense of humor, a nice guy. He shoots standing erect and no sooner gets his bridge down he fires. Lou is probably around 60 now.

I never did get to see him match up, but he was a player. We only played briefly a couple of times and he didn't miss many banks.

The day I didn't go into the pool room a road agent came in and was woofin' at all the young players, so Lou got tired of it and told him he'd shoot some banks for $50 a game. Lou tortured the guy and quit after the first game, just wanting to humble him. The road agent got pissed but that was it. Can't believe I missed that.

I knew Lou and he was a real good guy. He actually helped me with some local tourneys in the 80's at the Orange County Sports Arena. I haven't seen or heard from him for over ten years. He would be about 70 now, not 60. I hope he is still alive. I'd love to see him. And yes, he could Bank. No one around L.A. wanted to mess with him.

Thanks for the reply Jay. Yes, that has to be Lou. It was, in fact, in So. CA. where I knew him. I really liked Lou. He was always good with the one-liners. I had moved out there for a period of time and had no friends or relatives there, so I hit the pool room on Christmas and Lou was there. As soon as I walked in Lou says, "Well, we know who all the orphans are." :D
Great guy. He's one of those people you remember.
