The 2nd cue looks real but the first one? Hmm Custom BAY TAD or Custom Bay Tod? He misspelled?

I agree. The second cue looks legit but i don't know about the first one. The butt cap looks very non-TAD. The joint is solid ivory which is also kinda unique. And the signature looks like a three year old wrote it. But, what do I know?

It's legit. It was personally signed by Tad Kohara around two months ago when he came to Taiwan for the Tad Cup. For those who don't know, Tad Cup was held in Japan and Taiwan every year. :D

Btw, Tad signed 4 or 5 cues with a marker when he was in Taiwan. A friend of mine had an 8 pts Tad with that signature too. My friend even has a photo that shows Mr. Kohara is signing his cue with smile. I believe this old Tad was purchased from fleabay last year. :)

Tad has made a number of cues over the years based on the Titlist conversion. He does a very nice job with them.

I am not very familiar with his very early cues, but until the late 1960's the ones I've seen did not look like "Tad's" as we know them.

My TAD has solid micarta joint ... often mistaken for ivory without close inspection.

He doesn't have an email address and I don't think he knows how to use the computer. The website was done by his friend. He is a pro player in Southern Taiwan and I don't think he will part with his cue unless your offering is real high. You can call him but you gotta practice your Mandarin.:D

Last month when coach Chen came, I had a talk with him and we had some Chinese tea. I just sold a new SW and expect to get another one shortly.
Be awared of that old guy with the Tad, he is hard to deal with.
His price is never low and he tends to lecture young kids. Last time I sat and listened to his opinions on his cue collecting experience for nearly 1 hour. :D

Get prepared for his Taiwanese slang then.
Normally people in Taiwan don't speak Mandarin. They speak "Taiwanese".
I know you Singapure guys can speak Taiwanese too.

No man. Not this time. I can't find a free calendar for VF. Too bad.
Maybe I should switch the gear and attend the DCC instead.
There are more actions and more desperate players who want to sell their cues. Ha ha~

TAD normally doesn't sign anything, I've seen him asked by kids and flat out tell them NO, maybe it's that 3rd grade writing. I do happen to have his autograph and will compare it if I see something signed by him.

Jim,

thats not third grade signing..hehe..its worse.. Anyway i can see the squirm on the cue collector face when TAD signed the cue... After that signature, the cue needs a authentication letter..

That's what I told the owner when I first saw the signed Tad.
I actually told him to get the cue refinished.
I still can't figure out why he needs the signature when ther is a marking on the butt.
