Hi i decide to buy a match from accustats video. I want buy a evgeny stalev video, because he is one of my favorite player. I have seen many russian pyramid matches played by him, but only one on a pool table ( stalev vs kiamco at the 2005 us open).
I can choose ( only 9 ball)
- Kim Davenport vs. Evgeny Stalev at the us open 2002
- Evgeny Stalev vs. Charlie Williams at 2001 Derby City
- Stalev vs Rempe at 2001 U.S. Open

What would you choose?

Accu-Stats has more than 3 Evgeny Stalev matches available

Are you sure that you are limited to only three choices for Evgeny Stalev matches at Accu-Stats? I find more than that (7, in fact):

Hope this helps you find more interesting stuff,

thanks for the reply. I have only 3 choises because the other 3 matches are 1pocket ( i really don't get crazy for this game, sorry) and the other is a stalev vs morris and souquet vs mccready in only 90 minutes so the match is pretty much edited.

If it was me and I had to take an educated guess as to which one would be the best match...I would take 2002 Kim Davenport one.

A good way to tell how close or good a match is, where both players play well, is to look at the time distance of the match. If it's only a 45-60min video, someone probably gets beat by a bit, like 11-5. If it's a good hour and 30 mins it's probably a good close match. Just trying to get your monies worth ;).

I'd go with the one against Rempe. Stalev wins 11 racks, so you know you get to see him at the table plenty. And the match takes 120 minutes, so you get good entertainment value for your dollar.

The best thing to do is to call accu-stats (1-800-828-0397) and ask for Pat. It is a very down home, small business. If you tell him the ones you are looking at he will be able to tell you what is the best in his opinion because he was there when it was recorded, and he has a pretty good memory for the matches.

I ask him questions all the time and they are very friendly when it comes to customers.

yes, but my spoken english is terrible.

unfortunately Stalev's best match is out of reach for us (yet?). Evgeny himself referres as his best performance to his play at 2002 George Joblon Memorial.

Stalev defeated four-time world champion, Johnny "The Scorpion" Archer, 9-2, in the final of the 64-person field double elimination 9-ball tourney.
Archer jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but then Stalev took to the table and Archer never attempted another shot in a match that lasted just 58 minutes.

Evgeny says he ran 7 racks against Archer. Also he mentioned he's got that match on video. I wish we could take a look.
So far, go for one vs Davenport. Surprisingly, most Stalev's tapes on Accu-Stats feature the matches he loses.

I had the privelage of watching this match

I have to say that this match was one of the most impressive displays that I have gotten to see in person. Evgeny has such a powerful stroke too. They were saying it was due to playing russian pyramid where the balls are a little heavier.
