Get to pick up my new cue today.

The cuemaker is Dave Jones, from the Seattle area.

The cue is 60" (30/30). It comes with two shafts, with Dave's taper and at 12.4 mm at the ferrules. The finished weight is supposed to be 19 oz.

The woods are thuya burl in the forearm and the butt... and afzelia burl in the grip sections. The joint is ivory. The pin is radial and made of brass.

The points are three high (white) ivory and three shorter pink ivory. The pink ivory points are outlined with a white ivory veneer.

The cue design is mine, including the unique rings... the execution is Dave's.

Here tiz... lookin' forward to hittin' some balls with it later today on my table.

Have a great day, everybody!!... I will. :thumbup2:

I refuse to own a cue, if I can't pronounce the names of the wood used in it's construction.

Absolutely beautiful cue, congratulations!

Thanks brother.

Here's a close up of one of the two double rings that set off the grip section. Twin rows of tiny white ivory diamonds set in rich, black ebony and with intermediate thin pink ivory accents. Each individual ring has 30 tiny ivory diamond inlays... for a total of 120 inlays in the cue. Davy did a fantastic job on these rings.

I believe that I will call this my CROWN cue. ;)

Thanks brother. It does pop under the lights.

When I designed this cue, I selected the design in part based on my plan to order two cues... a matched set... this one... and its sister cue.

The sister cue would be in the inverse/reverse of this one.

Instead of thuya/afzelia/thuya burls for the butt/grip/forearm, the sister cue would be afzelia/thuya/afzelia burls for those same sections. And the three high points in the sister cue would be pink ivory with ivory veneers and the three shorter point would be white ivory... just the opposite of this cue.

And lastly, the sister cue would have the two double rings reversed... instead of tiny white ivory diamonds set in ebony like in this cue, the sister cue would have tiny black ebony diamonds set in white ivory.

We'll see... maybe one of these days. ;)

Getting ready to go out to my garage to hit some balls, Dave.

I'll let you know which shaft/tip I like better after I have had a proper test drive of each.
