Explain Mezz Shafts

I had regular mezz shaft, wx700, sigma and ignite, I love Mezz regular wooden shaft, sigma and ignite impressed me at the begining but I always make more balls with regular mezz shaft.

Thank you for all the constructive answers guys. Could anyone elaborate more on the expro shaft and how it compares to any of the popular models? Everyone around me using Mezz/Exceed has either an ignite or a wx900. I wasn't able to demo an expro or wx700 to date.

I bought my mezz from a guy that moves a lot of mezz cues each year. I had no idea what shaft to buy. I researched and asked his opinion I was willing to go top of the line ex pro or hp2. The dealer recommended I try the cheaper 30 inch sigma out. He said it's like a cheaper wooden version of the ignite. The dealer said the issue with ex pro is some can play really good, but he has seen some that play "pretty dead" due to the mix of CF and how the wood grain can impact the hit. The sigma has an actual pro taper where the other two are almost conical especially the ex pro. I wanted a slimmer pro taper like my revo. It's still in the mail should have it next week. We will see. Hopefully it's not too whippy.

I have a HybridPro(1st version) and it has CF core and it is anything but dead. 12.8mm with and old-school pro taper. IMO its the best wood shaft they ever made. Semi-LD and it plays lights out. I was really lucky when one came up for sale on here.

I have heard great things on the hybrid. To be honest if the dealer had a 30 inch united joint in stock I prob would have gone that direction rather than sigma due to the stiffer hit. 30 inch shaft was a must for me. We will see how the sigma performs. Mezz shafts in general are not cheap so I am expecting good things out of the sigma.

For anyone curious, I ended up getting an Exceed with Expro shaft. I like the combo a lot and got to the semi-final (lost hill-hill) of the first tournament I played days after getting it. Coming from a smaller shaft (12.4 Revo), it takes some getting used to and the deflection is higher than the Revo. I wish it was a little thinner, maybe 12.2 or 12.3.
