Extraordinary customer service-Predator Cues

Seems to me all they did was tell you they can't warranty your shaft and offer to sell you a new one.

Try getting then to fix or replace something covered under they're warranty and see how f***ed up they are.

Almost impossible to get something fixed or replaced unless you know somebody.

Yeah that's no good service.

Joss have good customer service, I remember I had the thorhammer lent to a friend, he returned the shaft without the brass insert and the shaft went warped.

I contacts Dan Janes, he offered me a replacement accordingly to my preferred shaft weight and wanted me to break/cut the shaft into two and proved the shaft is no longer usable. I just have to pay the $25-30 shipped overseas to Taiwan.m

This imo is what we call good customer service.

Predator as a company has dropped a ton!!!
Made in China! Warranty is horrible! I've had 5 shafts split in half and had no problem on the first one 8 years ago they just gave me a new shaft. Now with this new ferrule there life span is maybe 2 years if your lucky. Customer service is a joke now. There booth at all the events is a joke as well now. Sad for what was such a great company.

Im a fan of the 314-2 shaft but from hearing most peoples stories I have to say Predators customer service & warrenty stinks. I understand that they can't replace every shaft they get but to tell you that they can't honor they're warrenty because you break with the cue is ridiculous.

Now are they going to send you the old shaft back too?

Hopefully they will send you the old shaft too.

I'd like to buy the cracked shaft at a discount.

i'll keep you informed about that, calling them in the am for disposition

so, should I consider an ob-shaft (ob-1 or classic or what?).........I can get an ob for about $20 more than the predator and then there might be the shipping additionally, and I can pick it up from ozone billiards because they are 10 minutes from my house!.....

In my experience, blueing of the shaft occurs mostly to people who frequently use sandpaper and then don't do anything to seal the wood afterwards. It doesn't matter if the shaft is solid maple or laminated, wood is still wood. And if you expose those pores you give chalk nooks and crannies to fill.

Anytime I put abrasives of any kind to my shafts (which does happen from time to time) I spray on a film of sanding sealer and then smooth that down with 000 steel wool. That makes for an awesome feeling shaft that repels chalk deposits. Once you've used the steel wool enough times to have gotten through the layer of sealer, repeat.

I have four 314-2 Predator shafts and one OB Classic...and I can tell you that if I hadn't have already owned the Predator shafts before the OB Classic came out on the market...I would be the owner of five OB Classic shafts...I like them (and their customer service) a lot better.

Couldn't agree more, OB and Mezz both have good customer service. And they both play differently great!

Not saying this is what you have done, but...

If you used a lathe or drill, and held in same spot too long, it will delaminate the wood. The glue in the wood will break down. This happens often when inexperienced repairmen use a drill to clean a shaft. My guess is that they've learned to spot this quickly.
