Well, I've been saying I'd post up these pictures for a while, but here they finally are.
During my move I found my old full-splice blank which I made into a cue finally.
BUT, while moving the guitar shop equipment, I just recently found a bunch of other splice parts that I had completely forgotten about!
Not pretty at all, but the first (hundred or so) never are... I also had a LOT of fir splices (ripping 2X4's down is cheaper than maple!) but only one fir forearm attempt left as shown.
Fun to look back, and it keeps things in perspective- a full splice is not an easy piece of woodworking to do...
That last pic is a piece of maple with like 10,000 LPI. Cutting that piece of maple was like cutting concrete for some reason... Sort of a memento I guess.
