Eyes Jump UP

i was just looking for something like, 1. look at where you want the ob to go 2. line up where the qb need to hit the ob. 3 get in position 4. put your cue to the qb and line your cue to hit the qb down the targeted path in the center of the qb......and i would need help from there with the stroking process. Im sure a sentence or two would cover what im looking for.

Warm up strokes...eyes on the tip and cue ball
Stop warm up strokes...eyes verify tip position on cue ball and alignment of shot.
Set...eyes move from cue ball to aiming point
Pause...eyes STILL on aiming point
Finish...eyes STILL on aiming point

You must understand that the aiming point is not necessarily the contact point. You aim with your stick through the center of the cue ball, so aim to where you want the center of the cue ball to end up.

I think i understand everything except the pause.

Set...eyes move from cue ball to aiming point.....(at this point my tip is within a couple centamiters away from the qb)

Pause...eyes STILL on aiming point........ (am i pausing with the que stick still a couple centameters from the qb, or pausing after i bring the que stick back before moving it foward to hit the qb?)

Finish...eyes STILL on aiming point......... (move the cue stick foward to finish the shot.)

You are correct in your understanding of Set
When you draw your cue backward, at the end of the backstroke, is your second stop we have named "Pause"
When your forward stroke is complete and has come to it's natural stopping position, that is the stop we call "finish".

The 3 stops in every pool stroke...Set, Pause, Finish (SPF)

understood, is there anything particular pay i should be breathing during these strokes?

I've been trying shooting while I'm exhaling...i find my body to be much more relaxed at that moment. I use my breath to keep my timing in check also. I breathe at a certain pace, i use that pace for my aiming delivery. I find it helps to keep my backswing from becoming erradic. Something new I happened upon by a friend that was speaking about archery. I've been toying with it and I really like how its working so far, it suits me well...that and it gives me something to focus on that will keep me from analyzing my stroke too much, it find it more neutral towards the stroking process, staying the analysis by paralysis as Randy puts it.
