very nice lookin cue. Just wish i knew how Gilbert cues play.

....well. :)

Lol...nah, but seriously, pretty good cues in general. Cannot speak on behalf of this cue, but I used to have a jump/break made by Andy which played sweet! Sold it here on AZ to StorminHotRod...

I can only imagine how his PLAYING cues play. Lol. I've been wanting to pick one up myself, but I'm not a huge fan of purpleheart, unless its real deep and dark...

Lol. I ain't knockin' the cue! Gilberts are top notch, and this one ought to be no exception...

I'm just so vain...lol. Purpleheart actually plays really solid in my opinion, but I can't walk into a pool hall with a purple cue...although I would get tons of action with it! :p :D
And its good to see a FULL ivory joint from Andy for a change...and that ivory tip on the pin is pretty sweet lookin'!

Good luck with your sale! Shouldn't last long at all....

Unfortunately my camera sucks.....these are the only pics I have....thanks for all the offers so far.....please send more offers!!!! This Gilbert needs a good home......

cue

Gilbert cues plays amazing. I hate to bash other cuemakers cues, but I prefer my Gilbert more than my Judd. That's why I sold my 2 Judds recently and placed an order for a Gilbert jump/break.:)

3/05 Nice purpleheart Hoppe style – 4 purpleheart points with 4 veneers (white/light blue/purple/black) into curly maple – long purpleheart butt sleeve with an ivory Hoppe ring bordered by black phenolic – 1” flat face ivory joint (3/8-10) with ivory tip on the end of the pin (ala Schick) – stitch rings in joint collars – smooth black leather wrap

One Question: Are you really sure the shafts ate of ivory ferrule? No offence. I seen this cue but was with 2 shafts of linen based ferrules before.

I designed and ordered this cue and can attest that nothing was wrong with it when it was delivered. It has one of those real smooth (garment) leather wraps, so maybe the previous player couldn't get use to the feel. Sold this cue at Andy's old retail price...this was ordered just before the '05 price bump. With all the ivory options, leather, and both shafts, if ordered new today this cue would be around $1250. Andy likes doing the short 1/2" ivory joints, but had him do this one a full 1". It's a real beauty in person and has some wicked curly maple in the forearm (which Andy cored for stability). Am considering making an offer myself....

When I bought the cue...the seller stated the ferrule was ivory, it looks like ivory ...I can't tell you how many times this cue has been sold, but I can tell you this cue is in great shape. Sean thanks for your information and for the rest of you guys.....thanks for the kind words. I'm really close to making a deal, but I would like to see what else is out there for trade.....

hi all,
I owned this cue before snowmon34. I had 2 shafts with it. One shaft has an ivory ferrule and one had a mellamine ferrule. If anyone wants the 2nd shaft, let me know. Both shafts have moori tips. my shaft is 98-99%. I was gonna use this shaft as a playing shaft for my Gilbert JB, but I havent played much pool in a few months.
As for the cue, this cue feels really good when you hit with it. I like the hit that it had. Gilbert makes really great cues.

as per request: pics and price. PRICE LOWERED TO $115 shipped USPS Priority. 98-99% condition. LBM ferrule.
