FA: Sata Minijet HVLP Spray Gun

Somebody pulled the trigger on a new toy!

Hey, was this gun used for spraying cues only? I'm not sure it qualifies as a cue building machine if it wasn't!

I think I seen some "wood" in that picture also.

Your to much. :grin-square:
Good luck with your sale Bryan

I recently upgraded my gun and put the old one on ebay.

Bryan, Just for my information, why did you feel the need to upgrade from this gun and are the SATA guns really worth the money compared to the Harbor Freight knock offs? From what some cuemakers I've talked to have said your gun is probably "state of the art" for cuemaking, but I don't understand the advantages over the cheap disposable HF units.

I upgraded the the latest Sata minijet because I liked the idea of having integrated air micrometer for dialing in my pressure.

I've never used the HF guns so I can't comment on them but I will say that I have used that Sata for over a decade and its very well made. The only thing I have had to do with it is replace the needle packing for the trigger which was due to normal wear.

I like in general Sata because of great build quality, low air consumption and how it lays down my clear.

Thanks Bryan. Appreciate the quick responce. I've got 4 or 5 of the cheap HF knock offs that look a lot like the pictures of your SATA gun. I grew up in the Service station business ( back when you got your car fixed where you bought your gas, yeah the olden days) and spent a LOT of money over the years on Snap ON and Mac tools. I appreciate quality but I have a Harbor Freight store closer to me than the nearest grocery or Pizza parlor now and have fell into the convenience and price pitfall. Having never experienced the difference, I wasn't questioning the value or quality, just curious!
Thanks Again!

Sherm, as you know I've used the H/F guns for years and have about 8 of them. They look very similar to the Sata which they no doubt were copied from but believe me, that's where the resemblance stops. The Sata's spray so much better that they aren't even in the same ball park. There are other guns that will work just as well as the Sata at a much more friendly price however, especially now that the Sata's can't be sold on line at a discount.

I was wondering just where the air adjuster was on that gun. Now I know.

I have never heard of them until your mention. I'd consider them if I hadn't already picked up the new Sata.

The new Sata minijet works very well. I don't imagine ever having to buy another one at this point. The last gun still works great but I had the urge to change to the newer model.
