Facebook is Down on East Coast

Well I guess the Outage Outrage has passed. Rumor has it people in public places actually talked to each other today..even strangers!

What was the purpose of this thread, and how is it pool related?
So many things on Facebook Pool related it's not even a question.

I know some of you guys don't do Facebook, for some reason some of you think you have to give personal info to sign up, but that's just not true all you need is a current e-mail and if you don't want to use your personal one it takes a minute or two to make a new free one on G-Mail, Yahoo or MSN.

If you guys really want to stay updated on all things pool Facebook is the place guys 1000's of pool related groups sale forums and all the great free live streams including this Years Mosconi Cup are live on Facebook and all the pro's post on there. AZ Billiards even has a page :)

Now is your chance to break your addiction to that cancer of "social media".

It is an addiction, just like this forum used to be for me! :p A daily addiction of reading and networking with pool peeps. Now most of my pool peeps are on FB too. In fact, more are on FB than here, but I will always have a soft place in my heart for AzBilliards. I have friends and foes here. It's the friends that's the reason I keep coming back.

On FB, I have an industry related Facebook group, and we share jobs sometimes. We talk about the job no FB. It's a closed group, only for people in my industry. It is very helpful to network with like-minded folks to share punctuation tips, format, new technoloyg of software and hardware, how to handle a conundrum, et cetera, et cetera. After 40-plus years of doing what I do for work, I am still learning new things from this group, which is great. That's a good feature of FB, at least for me.

This is soooooooooooo true. I can watch all the live styreams of Ronnie O'Sullivan winning the Champion of Champions, Big Truck's coverage of various events, Roy's Basement challenge matches, and every now and then, a pro will post a live video snippet and share some pool-related tidbits. I love FB for these reasons and more.

There are many, many pool closed groups that get a good deal of action. "Let's Talk About Pool" is really cool.

I've been doing Facebook longer than the OP.

Long enough to know better than to freak out when it goes down temporarily.

I agree there are plenty of pool related things on FB. None of which has anything to do with this thread.

I created this thread just to annoy you, Beiber Lover.

Not annoying me, sugar.

Could be an annoyance to the person that has to move the thread because you lack proper forum etiquette.

Then again, maybe they won't care.

I do that every day, but I have an industry forum that I use for my job that I cannot access. Some of the members on that industry forum work for me. They can reach me via email, though.

It is amazing how dependent we can be on technology. I agree.

Maybe it's time to consider changing platforms? Or at least some redundancy. Farcebook might be going MySpace now.

They somehow determined my birthdate and published it, even though I did not submit it to them.

Fug 'em. Can't trust 'em.

Thanks for reminding me why I visit AzBIlliards much less these days. You're an asset to the forum's popularity.

I just saw the beginning of a post by Steve Voir from my phone. It said "Please don't include me in this mess, Tom Tom doesn't make mass sharings....ever see more I don't know what's going on but Steve is right, I've never made a single mass share post and doubt I ever will. I don't wish to be included in them and therefore would not subject anyone else to one.
I cannot get into facebook at all. I get a message that I am attempting to access from an unknown device and must provide additional information. I didn't trust it then and don't now. I"m waiting like the rest of you.

I'm only writing this because it appears someone has made the suggestion that I might be responsible to this crap. LUDICROUS!

if anyone here knows how I can access my facebook page without risk, please let me know. From reading through this thread it seems that many of you can get in. I"d like to as well.

thanks,And thank you Steve V., for sticking up for me.

They grabbed it when you had a birthday party and took pictures w your phone and listened in when your friends and family sang happy birthday.

Evil website.

The only thing I liked about fb was all those Russian memes and getting updates about pool tourneys in the area.

Tom, you have to change your password. Have FB send you an email. Say you forgot your login name and/or password. Just reset it.

FB did go down for about 2 hours, but it came back. I knew you did no post that mass-mailing thread. I also stuck up for you and said "Tom has been hacked," which you have.

Hope to see you on FB soon, my dear friend!:lovies:

I was going to say "old friend," but when we get to be our age, "old" has a different meaning than it did when we say "old friend" as in "long-time friend." Yeah, we're old, Tom. ;)

JAM, thanks. tried that numerous times. I get a 6 digit code - put it in - get a message that the code was not correct - many times. - now I"m locked out for awhile.

Getting pissed! and Frustrated!

Maybe later it will get better and I can get in. Sorry others had any trouble with their facebook pages but I'm not responsible.
