Fake gold crowns sold on eBay

Ball return hangs way too low. The rail blinds are cut differently on the bottom compared to a GC. Looks like the bridge might just touch the ground while resting in holder.

Seen all that to, just not worth mentioning as its not a GC. Taken apart there are many more difference's.

I was watching this table on eBay when I was table shopping. I thought it was real. How can you tell it's a knockoff?

The price was a little bit of a red flag for me at the time. IIRC it was listed for less than $1000.

The price wouldn't have been a red flag for me

Nowadays getting 1k for a GC3 is hard.I have a few in great shape that once i said 1k i never heard from them again. It's sad because the GC3 is a great table

The problem with GCs, is the market is flooded with them, so they're like a dime a dozen. I know someone that just bought 16 GC2s. for $5,000.

So, Glen --- what does it "usually" cost to get a decent and real GC1, 2 or 3 put back together by the real RKC these days so it plays the way it should? Or better yet, tell us what some of the various issues you encounter with them cost separately. Thanks, Glen!

Well, that depends on a lot of factors. I don't price quote on the forum because that kind of let's everyone else that thinks they know how to do work at this level, charge even more for their sub-standard work, and get away with it because they tell their customers that they do just as good of work that I do, but don't charge as much....but make sure they charge as close as they can to my price so they can make as much money as possible, yet they have no idea what they're doing....and neither do the customers.

I understand and respect that, Glen. Thanks for answering.

On a side note, How do the new Diamonds compare CONSTRUCTION and STABILITY wise vs the best of the GC's in your opinion. As good or better? In general of course.

Stock vs stock, I'd put the Diamond ahead of the GCs. But don't take it wrong, there's nothing about a GC that can't be fixed, corrected, or modified to make it better. When ever I rebuild a Diamond vs GC, there's always a lot more work that has to be done to the GC to get it to play right. That's not saying the Diamonds haven't had their issues as well, there's just more work involved in the GCs.

If they still made direct replacement cushions for the Monarch Super Speeds I dont think you would need to modify anything on the early GCs. Everyone talks about making GCs play "right", it seems to me that its more about making them play like a Blue Label Diamond.

Just a thought, would just replacing the cushion's on the older GCS repair the stapled out sub rails, broken off rail bolts, and nailed out ends of the rails?
