Keith just informed me that he saw a commercial on TV for an upcoming NBC show, "Dr. Phil." According to Keith, he recognized one of the guests in the commercial as Jay Helfert, something to do about sibling betrayal.

It comes on at 3:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, so I guess I'll be watching. Just curious if the subject of "pool" will pop up! :p

JAM ~ Did you get the name of the network that has Dr. Phil. We have several channels in my area that have the Dr. prescribing.

It is on right now on NBC. It is definitely Jay, and they showed him hitting a couple pool balls. The story line is about family rivalries, though.

His sister seems to not like Jay's profession as a pool player. Very interesting family crisis. I can't wait to hear what Dr. Phil's remedy is! :p

Is it worth taping JAM? I have an appointment at 2 but I'd like to see Jay on Dr. Phil. Peace, John.

Coincidence?

Well maybe that is the answer to the question. Why did his pool room close in L.A.?

It's a real "Dr. Phil" Special. Lots of emotion. Jay's mom and daughter are there, too, along with his sister. It's about cold hard cash vs. trust. Jay looks great! :)

Haha... interesting situation. My now ex-girlfriend (as of yesterday) absolutely hated me playing pool. Never really understood why. I tried working it out with her... I even bought her a cue to try and get her interested in the game. But, she just couldn't get over it.

The Jay Helfert sequence was on for 30 minutes of the 60-minute show. It was a real tear-jerker, especially when they mentioned Jay's younger brother was killed in a race car accident. All eyes were watering, but as you might expect, Dr. Phil saved the day and had everybody hugging and kissing at the conclusion. Jay's mom looks remarkable for 84. :)

The sister seems to be the issue. I felt sorry for Jay to have his laundry aired on public tv, but I guess he agreed to it. Too bad that it came to that.
